Will they be champions or will we prevent that happening?

The 17.30 kick off does their supporters no favours that's for sure, doubt many will travel unless they make a weekend of it.

3-1 to the TOWN.

What would you consider not many? And what does many look like, numerically?

Is the away end sold out yet?
No clear info on Pasoti or from the club yet. I am pretty sure that the club have requested the full allocation, but as noted the 5.30 kick off anectdotally is putting people off. Maybe we can make up the difference with inflatable likeness of those that can't attend?

I'm up Friday night and Saturday night. Don't think we will sell out the full 2200 if we are given that. Grimsby is not just North which we travel well but it's light years bloody east as well. We sold out the initial internet allocation whatever that was I believe. I expect we'll have some news today. As previously mentioned the 5:30 KO is a killer for a lot of fans. Wouldn't be expected back in Plymouth until about 4am Sunday if taking the club coach. You can't make it back to Plymouth on the train from Grimsby with a 3pm KO let alone half 5.

Grimsby fans how do you see yourselves playing this? I think it'll be a frustrating draw and Pompey go and win the league :hb:.

Where's the best fish and chips?

Where's good to go for a few diet cokes Friday night?

Where's good to go for a few more diet cokes with the early kick off and football Saturday?

EDIT:
Mass confusion re tickets over the weekend. No one knows how many we've been given but we've sold them all. GTFC have now said they are only selling to certain postcodes for the home end due to high demand and safety concerns - a lot of argyle must have been trying to sneak in there.

Some people saying we were only given 600, some saying we were given 1700 and have asked for more but aren't sure we'll get it due to safety again. Perhaps we would sell 2200 after all!

For fish "n" chips the best (even if I say so myself) has to be Steeles Corner House in Cleethorpes Market Place. Although it's like stepping back to the 50's when you enter, their Jumbo Haddock, Chips and Mushy Peas is legendary. The other pla(i)ce I'd recommend is The Ocean Fish Bar on St Peters Ave.

As for Friday night and pre-match drinks then there are plenty of pubs and bars around The Market Place and High Street, including a Wetherspoons (The Colleseum Picture House) on The High Street. If you like your real ale then further along the seafront you'll find The Nottingham Hotel (The Notts) and further down Smugglers and Willys (which is also a microbrewery). Pretty much the same pre-match too, although I know The Fiddler in The Market Place is always quite busy for the televised footy.

I was very very tempted to try and get tickets, but we would have gone up Friday and stayed to Sunday, and my boys are playing in a tournament at Home Park on Sunday morning. So I felt I could not stop their only chance of playing on the hallowed turf. So it will be the radiogram for us.

It does seem, as PG noted, to be a dog's dinner in getting the tickets. I think what sold out was the online tickets, and what remain are phone/come to the box office ones. This may depress sales a bit. I also would be surprised if we sell 2,200, but I bet it will be over a 1,000.

Edited:

It is all getting confusing, some sources saying we are allocated 1,700 and others 1,900, some believe it won't be extended, but it does seem likley that whatever out allocation we will sell it.

I'd like to maybe see us give Plymouth part of The Main Stand really. We done something similar before when we played Doncaster a few years back, when they were holders of the JPT. I'm sure it'd be quite easy to give Plymouth the section of The Main Stand nearest to the away end. We're not going to sell out so we might as well make a bit more dosh from the travelling Green Army.

Don't think it'll happen though but you never know.

I went down to collect my online tickets from the box office just now - they were totally sold out (online and in person etc). When asked how many we were given she said she didn't know :bl::lol:

I think (and I maybe wrong here) that the full capacity of The Osmond (including the corner section) is 1800. I think it was only 2200 when we used to have the temporary seating in the other corner. Whether the club will be able to accommodate more of your fans by giving them part of The Main Stand, I don't know.

Thanks for the info re pubs and fish and chips. The staple of a weekend in Grimsby it seems!

At the risk of sounding like an adopted moaning Janner, have I got this right, we're sold our allocation only we don't know what it is?!? Typical argo.

Oh dear! The EFL in their wisdom have appointed Mr Sarginson in the middle. He is the only ref i have seen at this level who lost control of a game. He owes us quite a few decisions. Doubt we'll get them. Very insensitive decision for such an important game.

Where have you seen that?

According to the EFL website it's our old friend Ross Joyce who failed to send off Bristol Rovers keeper in the play-off final the season before we won it.

On an update on Pasoti, the announcements are normally pretty good, but they may have got it wrong. I do hope so.

Edited
I just went on the EFL site and it looks you are correct. Phew!

Please don't let Plym*uth win the league, it's bad enough that they are going up automatically without them being champions.

Bradley back in which is good news, but I'd rather Threkeld started instead of Miller. SLeeeeew in for Jervjs who is injured. Suspect we won't look totally comfortable, but hopefully good enough.

Well done boys. Now we just need Exeter to win the playoffs and see argyle relegated next year. :)

Decent game and decent atmosphere, we were miles better in the first half and they were miles better in the second. Shaun Pearson had their pants down for large parts. Ross Joyce must be the worst referee on the books, how he still has a job is criminal.

Our commentators were implying that your stewards were taking our fans inflatables. If true, this is somewhat rich.

Before the game I noticed the stewards were actually throwing inflatables back that had gone onto the pitch. Once the game had started they put any that came their way aside, which is understandable.

Fun game. As Clarkey said, we edged the first but Plymouth had the second. Carey was head and shoulders above everyone else. Kennedy and Slew were Plymouth's biggest threat in the first half so not sure why the latter was taken off. Mckeown was definitely the busier keeper. Kept hearing commentators say the Plymouth goal was offside, but after seeing the highlights, it was very clearly on.

Plymouth fans were VERY loud pre-match but then we're pretty quiet until their goal. Inflatables looked like good fun but there didn't seem to be many floating about during the match.

Finally, Ross Joyce is an abomination of a referee. The amount of freekicks Plymouth got on the edge of our box was obscene. Inconsistent with his bookings and gave fouls for any context from our players. No doubt we'll have him again next year.
