Has the worm turned at Grimsby? Will Creepy Crawley slither to another away victory? Does anybody care?

2-0 Home win please. We have two young lads missing today though, Embleton being the one we'll miss the most.

McKeown, Hendrie, Davis, Collins (c), Fox, Pringle, Hessenthaler, Clifton, Vernam, Thomas, Cardwell. Subs: Russell, Whitmore, Welsh, M. Rose, Woolford, Cook, A. Rose

A target man of sorts up top with Thomas in Cardwell could be what we have been missing.

iFollow thankfully not working today as that sounded like a very drab half. Sounds like we're missing Embleton. Poor from Jolley for not getting the game postponed due to our very important callups.

Fotmob reckons we have someone called Mikey Davies playing at CB. Surely it's Harry Davis?

Edit: Is Mikey Davies a youngster?

YEEESSSSSSSS GET THE FUCK IN! Akheem Rose off the bench for his first goal for the club! Made up for the lad. Sounds like we don't really deserve to be ahead.

A draw would’ve been fair. Both teams created about 1 decent chance each. Awful game but 3 points is 3 points.

Great win, very happy for Rose and our good home form continues. Glad we grinded that out and put to bed the idea that we're unfit and unable to play late. Hopefully we can start another run with Embleton back. Really hope we can keep him for the season.

That’s a good point. With Embleton in today’s team I think we’d have created much more. The lad is a match winner. Hopefully Sunderland can stay at the top of the table.

I've got a horrible feeling we are gonna get Luton'd for him, maybe even by our gobby little mates down the A46.

Very good, composed finish by Rose after we've seen weeks and weeks of tame shots on goal. Picked his spot after a nice touch and hit it with confidence. Great to see we've got a young player with the ability to come on win games.

We can't keep a clean sheet. One of the defenders will have a moment and we are a goal down. Every now and then it turns into more than one having a moment and we get a tonking. I read on here that it was the keepers turn this time. Next week it will be someone else.

All a team has to do to beat us is shut up shop and wait for the gift. It's bloody annoying!

I didn't mean that Grimsby had shut up shop to beat us. I was not at the game so anything could have happened. What I mean is that all a team has to do to beat us is...blah blah blah.

We've had a fair few like that too and Danny Collins almost gifted you this one by the sounds of it, so it was probably always going to end like that. Our commentary team said you played the better football over the course of the 90 though (also something we have heard more than once!), so you have my sympathy tonight. Sounded like 0-0 was a fair score.

2 average sides cancelling each other out.
We were slightly better going forward but lacked nouse in the final 3rd.
A draw would have been fair but undone by sucker punch.
Hey-ho. I think we'll be visiting you again next season.
Good luck until then.

Yep, looking forward the match in March. Could well be a massive six pointer in terms of deciding the 13th to 17th spots.

What I really liked about it was how he took the ball in his stride, one touch and then bang. The keeping might have come across as a bit dodgy but Rose didn't give him a chance to think about it. It was by no means an easy goal to score and exactly the type of chance we haven't been burying.
