Hi all.
A few of you know this already but I thought I should post a thread on here anyway, for those who don't.
Ian (aka Dr Mantis Toboggan) has unfortunately passed away. I appreciate there may be some suspicion about this given my past history of posting RIP threads for people who had not in fact died (which I now deeply regret). Unfortunately others in our friendship group have been banned so I am the only one left to deliver this message.
His sister posted on social media this morning:
It's unclear what happened but police have said that there is evidence to suggest Ian had been using his phone at the wheel. They said his phone's browser window was open on a 1ff page - quite fitting given how much he meant to this place and vice versa. Equally fittingly he was in the middle of a post about the Nintendo Switch imbroglio, a matter about which I know he was pleased to have seen resolved after many months of campaigning.
I do wonder if Tractor Boys and Saddlerrad had just sent the Nintendo when they said they would, would Ian still be alive? I also wonder about Oaf's part in all this, given how little he did to prevent any of it from happening.
If they can sleep at night, good on them. I couldn't.
I know many of you didn't get on with Ian but he was a huge part of our community and was just 24 years old. That's no age at all and is a terrible loss to his friends and, particularly at this time of year, his family.
It is unlikely I will post again on this forum.
Thank you, and RIP Ian.
