On to Scunthorpe then........

We’re without BRE (Ben Richards-Everton) which is a huge loss. He stupidly got himself sent off at the weekend. He’s been an absolute rock this season and is without doubt the player of the season so far IMO.

I suspect we’ll see Anthony O’connor come into the equation. He can probably count himself very unlucky not to be in the team anyway given the way he started the season, but Paudie and BRE make for a very solid defensive partnership in this league.

The team picks itself in this case;

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: Kelvin Mellor
CB: Paudie O’connor
CB: Anthony O'connor
LB: Connor Wood

RW: Harry Pritchard
CM: Matty Palmer
CM: Callum Cooke
LW: Dylan Donnelly/Zeli Ismael

ST: Clayton Donaldson
ST: James Vaughan

I know Scunthorpe have started poorly, but they have got some good individual players - especially for this league. I’d probably take a draw but it should be a game we should relish and go there looking to take all three points rather convincingly.

2-1 Vaughan and Cooke

6,328 (2,000 City).

Proctor being fit or not will have a big impact on our performance. He was fantastic against Morecambe and Oldham and we won one and drew the other. He was injured against Walsall and we looked toothless without him. Even if he's fit I don't think we will win, draw is our best hope.

I rated Jamie when he was here - certainly an asset at this level and L1 IMO. It’s amazing to learn how young he still is - seems to have been around donkey’s years.

Absolutely no one this end of the country is expecting an easy game - incredibly tough on paper.

McArdle, Gilliead, Lund, Proctor and Miller all EX City - at least one of ‘em is deffo scoring.

A cop out to say but really could see any result here, don’t have a strong feeling towards one outcome - form wise we should win yet traditionally those are the ones we always lose. Always feel Scunny have a strong side and would expect them to start rising once things eventually begin to settle. I’ll sit on the fence and say score draw.

Not a chance Gilliead or Miller contributes anything helpful to the team, they're not scoring.

Bradford are exactly the sort of big spending "ooh look at us" tippy tappy fancy dan wannabes that Van Veen will turn up against. Shock home win.

Hurst said he was gonna be out for about 2 weeks after the Walsall game didn't he?

Miller is dreadful still don't know why Barnsley spent money on him, the lad doesn't look like he has any attributes to make it other than pace and the odd well taken goal. They could have just bought Patrick off us for that, and yeah Gilliead looks nice on the ball until he actually has to do something. When thy signed I said both were poor, but you've still got dangers elsewhere.

This won't be an easy one, but we're 6th so I'll say close win for us.

Bradford fans top three things ever:
1. Free season tickets
2. Warning other fans about former players
3. Telling other fans they did warn them about former players

Joking aside, this will be quite an interesting game. On paper, Bradford should win but I do think Scunny are going to hit some form sooner rather than later and this game is tough to call. I reckon Bradford will come from behind and win.

That one is actually number four on their list of favourite things ever!

Nah Omari Patrick had his chance with us and just wasn’t cut out to handle it with the big boys. Miller looked decent in pre-season but was definitely signed as a player that would be a squad member if we hadn’t been promoted, still young tho so I’ll give him a chance to prove himself.

No clue, if so it's shit as he's been good so far.

McArdle has been class this season to be fair to him, L1 just wasn't his level anymore.

Miller has to be one of the least effective strikers who has had the privilege of playing for The Bantams.

What on earth possessed Barnsley to fork out £250k for him is anybody's guess. He is National League level at the very best.

No doubt he will now net the winner against us tomorrow!

McArdle’ll get a good reception from us, one of our history makers, glad he’s back on track.

No Van Veen today.

Jamie Ward starting up front on his own, hasn't played a game for months.

4-0 Bradford

That's a fantastic result considering our injuries and the fact we were down to 10 for 70 minutes. Team battled their hearts out for once, was good to see.

Bradford specialise in playing against 10 men. How many is that now? 4? 5?

Twice? Both 100% reds?

Edit: 3? FGR first game, last and this week?

Edit edit, it was Cambridge first up, FGR had one I think in the 90th but I’d walked out well by then.

It’s our Barca-esque style - opposition just wanna hack us down.

Seen both. And both look like identical playing styles. But we’ll see. Can’t believe we offered Patrick a contract anymore than I can believe you offered Miller a deal tbh.

Dominated the ball even against 11 men. Give a stupid penalty away, then we struggled in the final third. Scunny deserve credit, they were poor on the ball but were very good defensively. Unfortunately the red did us no favours as it injured one of our two main midfielders, now we have to play Akpan cheers! He didn’t do to bad yesterday but it’s not that hard for a CM when you have all the ball against 10 men. When need to get far better quality into the box, our end product was appalling.

We showed some effort and fight and probably deserved a point. In the first half Vaughan and Donaldson should have scored, particularly the latter. His headed miss was spectacular. Ward could have scored a second for us, but chances were few. Lund's challenge was ridiculous and a definite red card, one of the few decisions the ref got right. Van Veen was out with a rib injury, which was disappointing, as I would have liked to have seen him alongside Ward.

In a roundabout way Hursty called KVV out in his Radio Humberside post-match. Said he trained all week and then complained about his ribs (a knock from the Walsall game?) on the morning of the Bradford match. Said he would have started. Sounded mildly confused and a bit like he was growing increasingly tired of him.
