Just a place to dump links to and discuss any previews of L2 you've seen in newspapers, football websites, blogs, graffiti, smoke signals etc.

Here is one from the Guardian, they have us as play-off contenders, which seems pretty fair based on the last couple of seasons:

Yeah see us being between 6th-10th, not sure there’s enough goals in our team to do better then that and will be one of the youngest squads in the division again, but this time with an inexperienced manager too. We need Matt to stay fit for the whole season to challenge.

Alan Alger is an utter bellend, as is Sam Elliott btw. So called non league ‘experts’ my arse.

think gabriel sutton pretty much nails his write up of us. we can probably aim at playoffs with a fair wind behind us but may be a little optimistic with a brand new squad.

I'm quietly confident though - we have a really strong midfield, full of experience, defence looks improved and it wouldn't take much for wilson to improve on last seasons alleged strikeforce.

we're quite a tricky one to predict i think

Agreed even if there’s one or two of Gabriel’s I’d disagree with such as Oldham (I just can’t imagine a Keith Curle led side being relegated from L2) it’s clear they’re a lot better thought out and reasoned than most others you find.

Basically we have a range on predictions between 4th and 12th and all of them are perfectly reasonable to me frankly.

Gabriel Sutton once called Keith Curle the most underrated manager in the EFL. Be cautious listening to him.

All the previews I read have us relegated or no higher than 20th.

That's all fair enough, on paper and a very disjointed pre season we don't look great.

Just have to see what happens.

Yeah, Scunthorpe will probably surprise everyone and storm to the title while teams you expect to do well will end up finishing lower mid table or doing a Notts. One of the hardest divisions to predict, partly due to lack of parachute payments.

I saw the guardian one. Cant quite work out if them mentioning a club in a certain section means that's where they place them, but in short:

Auto contenders
Bradford
Salford
Bristol Rovers
Orient

Playoff contenders
Mansfield
Exeter
Newport
Walsall
Stevenage
Tranmere
FGR
Harrogate
Crawley

Relegation contenders
Barrow
Oldham
Rochdale
Scunthorpe
Sutton
Carlisle
Swindon
Hartlepool

I'm on my phone so struggling to switch tabs and read through the article but looks like there are a few clubs they have no strong views on.

Dead right Chris, these "experts" know less than we do and we are unable to pick between at least 8 teams. Still, they give us a laugh.

I think they're saying that by picking one of your players as being one to watch that's you covered, same goes for Colchester mind you they only mention us in passing as being where Barrow got Zanzala from and don't seem aware of Port Vale's existence at all.

Maybe they had a quick look on this forum early last season, best check they haven't covered vale in the L1 preview

For the amount of L2 knowledge most pundits have I'm surprised there's not one or two gave last year's preview a brief update and still have Morecambe down for relegation.

I'm surprised there are a few putting Barrow down amongst the strugglers; proven manager at this level and despite the loss of Quigley seem to have recruited well.

Feel they got two very good players off of us in Farman and Zanzala. Can't imagine you nick two players off a team who finished 10th and then go and get relegated

I've got us down for a slight improvement this season, but there's not a great deal of quality throughout the squad.

Our chairman will find the cash for a January splurge if needed, so we'll probably be fairly safe - can't see us doing any better than lower mid-table though.

The only experts on this division are us. We have varying opinions but at least have knowledge.

This one actually claims their writer is a league Two expert

The betting tip ones are often like meta previews because they're interested in the things that are a little underrated.

Happy to be underrated by a lot of people. There is absolutely no way we will be doing a Southend, definitely not relegation candidates.

The bookies seem a lot more confident of us doing well than i do.

I do expect a top half finish and we have looked good in pre-season but in the grand scheme of things that equates to fuck all come saturday at 3.

PPG wise we finished 9th under clough last season which given the dire squad we had was a good effort.

Keep the midfield fit and we may have a chance of the playoffs

The D3D4 season preview/1-24 is out

UPDATE: Still listening to it, there's gonna be a lot of disagreement on this forum about what they said.
I've never listened to this before so thought I'd give it a go. They've predicted we'll be 23rd which is fine but after basically saying Ben Garner isn't a great appointment (fine) apparently we haven't got any players or a Director of Football. Even though Ben Chorley the DOF was announced at the same time as Garner. A feeble gag about kids urinating on scarves ended the listening for me.
