I thought the EFL have to apply a meaningful points deduction in the event of a ‘manufactured’ decision to go into administration. That would be applying any such deduction at the beginning of next season. Tread carefully with this one.

Cut off is 26th March so effectively as long as before then it would apply this season. They’d still be in a relegation battle although 7 clear.

Not as easy as that... for instance we successfully and fairly swiftly got rid of Smurf when we'd had enough of that kind of thing but we were lucky two decent people with the money were prepared to pay well over the odds to give us that club back (and boy they have done that and more this ten months)

Our previous administration came on the back of being owned by a fans group where fans had shares though and they couldn't get rid of those in control even though they were fans supposedly on an elected board and took fans stopping going to kill the finance and force them into administration but it took years.

Coventry, Charlton and Blackpool have or had in Pool's case been fighting hard for many years. Its just not that simple... you need a) someone with the money prepared to take over and b) a board willing to see sense.

Germany it is down to the ownership rules which are not in place here. I believe no one can own more than a set % and usually are backed by the City's big business such as Wolfsburg and Volkswagen and you don't shit on your own doorstep usually.

As for Exeter fair play but its a rare successful example. Unless ownership rules change nothing else will.

Not entirely true as the recent hoffenheim farce shows. But at least there the fans protest en masse when they are put behind private owners.

Its an all too familair story, this could go either way it seems. Short term pain for long term gain could work here.

If Oldham have 12 points off, IMO they have enough in their squad to stay out of trouble but its a huge risk.

But how are fans supposed to get unpopular owners out when they're already in charge?

Blackpool fans boycotted for four years to get the Oystons out but it was only Valeri Belokon's legal action that forced them out in the end. Prior to that the Oystons were staying in charge to spite the supporters more than anything.
