The only League fixture being played in the week, and one we must win if we have any genuine playoff ambitions.

Whilst I'd have taken a point at MK yesterday before the game, it's disappointing how it actually unfolded. We should have won that comfortably when 4-2 up with 10 to play.

That being said, we're playing some great stuff now under Wellens. That first goal of ours against MK was as good a team goal I have seen in this division for some time. Davies & Doyle are forging a great partnership and we now have a midfield that can control games - I'm not used to seeing this at Latics, and its why I expect it to come crashing to a halt some time soon in typical Latics fashion - probably losing this game!!

Davies & Doyle have 15 goals and 7 assists between them this season - probably more than Latics strikers have amassed over the last 3 or 4 years.

Placide

Dummigan - Clarke - Bryan - Hunt

Fane

Gardner - Byrne - Menig

Davies - Doyle
Latics 3-1 Bury (Doyle 2, Byrne)

Don't you dare even think about losing this Oldham, a home victory should see the trigger pulled on the useless twat. He actually blamed the wind for our defeat on Saturday, he is absolutely clueless clown.
Prediction 3-1 Oldham I and many others will not be bothering to attend when normally we'd be well up for this game.

The more we lose by and the less we take the better. Send out a clear message.

3-0 Oldham, 500 Bury fans if that.

Us? Yeah why not. Hardly the greatest league, the football under Wellens is leagues above what it's been under all our previous managers, we have won 4 and drawn 2 of our last 6 games, and after the weekend we will have played every team in the top half, so a nice run of games coming up.

Granted it's not as simple as that and there's a hell of a lot of work to do, but it's much better at Oldham at the moment and long may it continue.

Probably end up getting beat tomorrow like...

Can't say I've seen much of Oldham but seems a tad optimistic after your start, can't really blame the manager either as all your fans seemed to adore him.

Fair enough if so, would like you up here it's about time you moved division.

We started this season like a steam train under McCann and it's all gone pear shaped very quickly. If Wellens is still smashing it after January you should start getting exciting.

When you have had very little to cheer about for 20 years, 6 game unbeaten runs against sides above us is worthy of excitement.

I thought the same before we played them, but they have probably been the best team we've played this season including our defeats. Surprised how good they were compared to a Blackburn or Chartlon who I expected to finish just behind Wigan pre season.

What was Wellens role before he stepped up as manager? We have a good team and it shows what a mess this deluded cretin is making of things that we are where we are in the league. I think any half decent manager or coach could get us playing some decent stuff and organised at the back, it sure as hell beats this farce of a manager. He has actually managed to outdo Flitcroft in the incompetent field, despite having a much better squad.

Just came in as a coach. He's got us playing some nice stuff now though. It's been a while since we've looked a threat going forward.

While lots of fanbases get over-excited in pre-season, I don't think we ever got quite that rambunctious. But early July hopes came from Sheridan's form as manager, and early signings.

Unfortunately the signings almost completely dried up, and a little seed of doubt quickly grew to a large lack of confidence as the season got underway. Then some canny loan signings, a couple of well thought lineup changes, and Wellens' seemingly massive impression made on the squad has seen a genuinely huge turnaround in confidence.

But lose tonight, we're back in the bottom 4, and could that confidence turn again? Lets not find out!

I think the current top 6 all look like they might just be too good in all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if they're the 6 that end there

Not a bad game, definitely the better side but Bury aren't as bad as being made out.

Another absolutely cracking team goal from us though, Doyle now on 10 in 10.

2-1!!!

Last minute Holloway winner.

A little cruel on Bury though as they probably deserved a point as we were poor in that 2nd half.

Ha ha. I was watching on iFollow so thought with 30 secs left it was done and dusted but clearly premature!

Great win for us though and the run goes on.

Won 5 drew 2 under Wellens, and Scunthorpe visit BP on Saturday.

Any neutral who both reads these forums and watched that game would wonder what most of us are going on about.

Bury although nothing special were far from dreadful. Stopped our midfield playing and frustrated byrne. Could have easily won it in the last minute not lost it.

Latics meanwhile were poor for at least 2 thirds of the game. Not what we have come to expect recently. A draw was a fair result there. 2 crap teams in shite weather.

But the luck is with us at the moment and you kinda get the feeling we are going places

Nothing special would be alright if we had scraped players from lower leagues or whatever but we have proven players at the club, we have spent more money than this football club should.

It's horrible turgid football apart from the odd 20-30 minute spell at home. It's still no away win since March. It's not good enough.
