2 weeks after one Latics team 1-0'ed us in front of a sizeable away crowd, we play a high-flying Wigan side and hopefully end up with a different outcome to the Oldham game. No doubt Mowbray will set us up to win 1-0 on the counter and we'll get destroyed all over the pitch. Seems daft to say this so early on in the season but if we want to go up this is a must-win to keep in touch with the top 2.

Wigan 2-1 Rovers I think.

I’m genuinely nervous about it. Biggest game of the season by a mile. With the table as it is a win for us would be absolutely massive because I think you are still the biggest threat to our automatic promotion spot despite Mowbray being an awful manager, so to go fifteen points clear would be huge. I’ll go for a tentative 1-1 draw, Dack will score no doubt. If ever we needed Nick Powell to put on a show, this is the game.

I can see it being a cagey one this match. I'd be happy with a point to be honest and would be over the moon with a win. I think 1-1. Giorgios Donis with a 50yd thunderbolt for us; Conor Sammon with a mazy dribble and cool finish for Wigan. Attendance 54,392.

3-2 Wigan.

For me by far our biggest game of the season so far. I still think that Blackburn can challenge the top 2 as at this stage in 2015 when we won the league, we were 5th with 27 points from 16 games.

Blackburn are currently 6th on 23 points from 13 games.

Of course it is also a Lancashire derby. This is the first game that I'm nervous for at home this season. We haven't been brilliant in the games against teams around us (losing to Shrewsbury and Peterborough), however those were away and we have only dropped 2 points at home so far this season which was a 1-1 draw with Portsmouth and that could easily have finished 5-1 to us...

Us and Shrewsbury find ourselves running away with it at the minute and I firmly believe that we will reach 100 points this season, comparing the club with where we were at this stage two years ago and providing that we bring in another attacking player in January.

I would expect Blackburn show us less respect than other visiting teams have done at the DW this season and players like Dack are certainly a threat. Nobody has really brought it to us so far and we have controlled large parts of every single home game we have played.

I think this is a big test for our big match players ie. Powell and Jacobs but I would expect a win.

I imagine the table will look very different when we meet again at Ewood.

Frustrating game. First 20 minutes was a stalemate and just a scrape in the middle of the park, we then got a foothold on the game and controlled the rest of the first half in the Blackburn half, Massey should have squared it to Toney to tap it in the net but shot at the keeper instead.

Second half Blackburn had a couple of chances on the counter a 30 yard chip from Dack well wide and a Dack volley at full stretch rushing into the box which went a bit over.

Was surprised at how negative Blackburn were set up, no shots at all first half.

Was baffled at Blackburns booing of the officials who gave 4 contentious decisions Blackburns way. Firstly I think it was Smallwood lost his head and swung his arm at Powells head, should have been a straight red for violent conduct, ref did nothing. Bennett should have been given a second yellow for an embarrassing dive then eventually did get a second yellow for an embarrassing dive 20 minutes later.

Blackburn gave away a lot of cynical and stupid fouls, Chapman kicked the ball away got booked, then produces an embarrassing dive somehow avoids a second yellow then karma as he injures himself and goes off in added time.

Blackburn look to have a bit of a discipline problem, ref was far too lenient.

3 penalty shouts, first half I actually think Williams may have played the ball before taking Toney down, but would like to see a replay. Second half, 2 late needless two handed shoves in Powells back in the box, players seemed desperate to give a pen away at the end.

Thought Blackburn worked very hard and got really stuck in a bit too much at times. But they heavily relied on Dack who apart from 5 minutes early second half was marked out the game. Graham and Chapman came on and should have started as even though Blackburn had 10 men, long balling it up to these two actually offered an outlet and look a threat on the counter.

Think Blackburn need Mowbray binning off as I can see exactly why Blackburn aren't scoring goals, far too cautious when you have threatening players on the bench.

Smallwood, Conway and Bennett were well off the pace, they need firing off if Blackburn want promotion.

Frustrating for us in the final third, over passing it rather than shooting, balls into the box no one on the end of it, wasteful finishing and hitting the post again. Certainly weren't at the races in the final third.

The fucking refs in this league man, Darren England is a fraud. Blind bastard. Can't even appeal Bennett's sending off because it was a second yellow.

Good point considering the circumstances.

I'd like to you get used to them, but after 14 years in the bottom 2 tiers the refs still find was to shock with their ineptitude. Clubs who moan all the time in the PL and championship about ref standards should have to spend a few years down here, they'd soon shut up.

Thought the ref got all the big decisions right. I thought we should have had a pen in the first half but after watching it back the ref was spot on not to give it. As for the sending off, I was directly in line with it and it was the clearest dive you'll ever see. Blackburn fans behind the goal with a far worse view decided to barrack the referee for the rest of the game anyway.

What is it with you lot and needless sendings off at our place? I remember four years ago when you were 1-0 up and in total control when Grant Hanley decided to elbow Nick Powell in the face. This was just as stupid, diving when on a yellow card. Blackburn would have gone on to win had they had 11 men and still might have with 10, they were by far the better team on the day.

Blackburn fan says their player was hard done by..

Wigan fan(s) says Blackburn player clearly dived..

Well....which is right?

No wonder these refs get aaccused of being rubbish - whatever decision they give someone doesn't like it.

I think the problem is that the tackle was dangerous so Bennett had to get out of the way, then ended up getting clattered by a second Wigan player anyway. He stayed down cos he got clattered into so the ref thought he dived presumably.

For a substandard run of the mill L1 team like you yes. For a team full of good players looking to compete in the Championship let alone L1 no he’s not good enough. We need better. As for the dive, like I said I had one of the best views in the ground of the incident as did the ref while Rovers fans had arguably the worst view in the ground behind the goal. Clear dive.
