I'd like to see Wigan, Rotherham and Bury added to this list over the coming days.

Let's hope for Crewe, Coventry, Notts County and the aforementioned three to also be confirmed by the weekend.

Could potentially have Preston, Sheffield United and Chesterfield here too next season. Although unlikely.

IF we lose Preston and one of MK Dons/Sheff U. Plus if 2 of Cov/Notts/Orient drop the other way, then this league looks incredibly shite next year.

If Millwall and Rotherham come down too, then it would be the weakest league i've seen for years.

Hardly a bad thing at all. Surely you'd want a lack of competition next season so you can get back up to the Championship more easily?

I prefer a tighter division, gives a bit of hope that anyone can possibly make the Championship. Even Sheffield United if they fail in the playoffs again will have a decent shot at automatics next year if the league was weak.

LOLZ!!!!!!!

Our current crop of 'players' literally stand absolutely no chance of even finishing top half next season.

Division 3 North - fucking horrendous for any club south of Brum.

Shouldn't be allowed!

Any news on your new potential gaffer?

Warburton is being banded about, and the Evans rumour still won't go away. I would say if Rotherham don't stay up, Evans is a shoe-in.

However, our current caretaker manager keeps talking about next years plans and targets over the summer etc as if he has already been told he will get the job full time.

If Millwall stay up, MK overhaul Preston, Swindon win the playoffs, Crawley, Orient & Colchester go down, Bury pip Southend for automatic promotion and Plymouth win the playoffs in L2....

....Gillingham's local "derby" would presumably be Peterborough, which isn't too local. However, Plymouth's equivalent might well be Walsall!

Madness

That's the price you pay for Mark Cooper fielding a weakened team for the rest of the season. :gr:
I understand that the team for Colchester tomorrow will be back to 'normal' - something else for the Franchise customers to get steamed up about.

Still can't see us going in for any 50-50 balls, though.

I'd have Wigan, Rotherham or Millwall down, don't mind. To come up Southend, and Newport would be interesting, not been there.

If that's the case then I withdraw my anti-Cooper sentiment and will give him a Knighthood for services to football.

Rumour doing the rounds that Cooper may well be gone next season whether we go up or not

Don't know the ins and outs, but I was told the first team coach, Luke Williams, will take over with a DoF appointed.

The 2 don't get on that well, apparently which may have something to do with it.

Then, again, it may turn out to be bollocks - but it does come from within the club

I know this sounds utterly stupid and sentimental but reckon the DoF could be the return of Hoddle? Seems reluctant to come back into hands-on management but has been a presence at clubs behind the scenes recently.

Hang on, this doesn't add up. This current crop, who are on course for a top 10 finish this season, apparently have no chance of finishing 12th or higher in a weaker league next season?

League One for next season confirmed. Ok, its only 14 teams so far, but this is pretty funny:

Especially when you consider that at the very least you will be adding either Chesterfield or Sheff U to that map, plus either Wigan or Rotherham.

I think though that Southend will go up via the autos on Saturday and Millwall will come down from the Championship. A small consolation for you Gills fans I think. Also, with Bury the only northern team of the 4 in the play offs, there is a good mathematical chance that another southern team comes up. Bury go up automatically and you are still guaranteed a southern team to come up.

If we can keep Coventry, County, Crewe and gain Rotherham instead of Milwall and Wycombe instead of Southend, the away game tally next year may break a few records!

Fantastic league, kept the big boys like Scunthorpe and Walsall which is what matters.
