Morning Everyone,
After running this for a period of time last season with seeming success in L2 I am going to try this again in L1 this year. Happy to proceed with it as long as we get a decent amount of participants in.
RULES:
The rules are as follows. You need to pick 6 players. A GK, 2 defenders, and then you can pick any 3 players who are midfielders or forwards. (Try to be honest, if you have a wingback that is regularly being played as an actual winger that is NOT a defender!).
Clubs will be placed into 6 groups of 4, you must pick ONE player from each group of 6. This ensures all the teams are varied and not just made up of the best players from the biggest teams.
You can also NOT pick two players who’s teams start with the same letter, so for example you could not pick a player from Carlisle, Cambridge, Charlton, Cheltenham etc despite being in different groups. Has to be a different group and different letter. Again this is to try and add a bit of variety to the teams.
The groups are as follows:
The promoted sides (Carlisle, Leyton Orient, Stevenage, Northampton)
The relegated sides (+1) (Blackpool, Reading, Wigan, Peterborough)
The big clubs (Bolton, Charlton, Derby, Portsmouth)
Others (Burton, Cheltenham, Exeter, Fleetwood)
Others (Barnsley, Bristol Rovers, Oxford, Cambridge)
Others (Lincoln, Port Vale, Shrewsbury, Wycombe)
SCORING
A GK or defender who gets a clean sheet will receive 5 points (must play at least 60 mins for this to be counted)
A GK or defender who scores a goal will receive 6 points
A GK or defender who gets an assist will receive 5 points
A Midfielder or forward who gets an assist will receive 4 points
A Midfielder or forward who scores a goal will receive 4 points
Any player that is booked will receive -2 points.
Any player that is red carded will receive -5 points.
ALL DATA IS TAKEN FROM WYSCOUT, A TOOL THAT CLUBS USE TO SCOUT PLAYERS, REVIEW GAMES ETC. The data from Wyscout is what I will use to then calculate the points.
CAPTAIN:
Each week you may select a captain, you can keep the same captain or change them if you like. Your captain will receive double points for any points scored or for any minus points, so pick wisely!
Transfers:
You may make ONE transfer per week, this needs to be done between the SUNDAY following the bulk of games and the FRIDAY prior to the next round of games.
Fixtures:
Each week you will be selected to play another players team, with the winning sides being given points in the same way that a normal match would, 3 points for a win etc.
To ensure that I don’t have to spend too much time on this games will only be played for the weekend fixtures (if a game is on a Friday / Sunday that is fine). POINTS WILL NOT BE SCORED FOR TUESDAY FIXTURES.
And Finally…
It’s a bit of fun. Don’t cry about me being a massive nerd or something. If you don’t want to to get involved then that’s fine.
