As it's near the end of the season, the excellent 'The Fishy' website has re-introduced their match predictor as a bit of fun. Just enter in what you think the results of the remaining games will be and see how your table ends up!

http://www.thefishy.co.uk/calculator2.php

For me,

Pos Team GD Pts
1 Wigan +36 92
2 Burton Albion +24 92
3 Walsall +26 90
4 Millwall +24 83
5 Gillingham +22 77
6 Bradford +10 74
7 Barnsley +17 73
8 Coventry +20 70
9 Rochdale +10 70
10 Port Vale +1 68
11 Swindon +3 67
12 Peterborough +5 66
13 Sheffield Utd +5 66
14 Southend +0 66
15 Scunthorpe -7 58
16 Bury -16 58
17 Chesterfield -11 53
18 Fleetwood Town -8 48
19 Shrewsbury -21 47
20 Oldham -20 44
21 Blackpool -20 43
22 Doncaster -21 41
23 Colchester -44 35
24 Crewe -35 34

There's probably a side that I've predicted will either win or lose every single game left, but I've tried to do it impartially!

there is no way the top three will have point tallies that high.

Last year the top 3 ended on 99, 91 and 89 so it isn't impossible
of course it's not impossible, it's just extremely unlikely that three sides are all going to find that sort of consistency even at this stage of the season. I see us finishing on 75-78.

Agreed, but generally speaking you'd expect the top teams to win a fair few of their games from here on in, which is essentially all this predictor thing is good for!

We won't get to 70 points, Peterborough won't reach 66 points and I don't think Swindon will reach 67 points either.

I also think it will be more than 44 points to be be safe.

So Salop 9 games unbeaten ( although probably due to lose v Wigan on Saturday) will only get 1 point from the remaining games. I hope that is wrong cos 47 points will not be enough to avoid relegation!

I really don't think you've understood the point of the predictor if I'm honest.

I wouldn't put any money on it.

To be fair to Joe, Shrewsbury have got to play five of the top six, Sheffield United, Peterborough and then away to Swindon... one point might not be an unreasonable guess...

Just tried this without inputting any results.

I think the random number/form wotsit has been on the scrumpy.

Burton + Wigan for top two, ok
Walsall, Millwall and Bradford for playoffs, why not
Peterborough(!) to storm to the final plaplaicemeths, a thing of meths...

If any stray kabeljawschen are reading this, you need to reset the verniers on your trawler! :-)

You will get a different result every time you try it with no results

I reckon I may be a little optimistic but mine came out as;

1 Wigan 46 +42 95
2 Gillingham 46 +33 88
3 Burton Albion 46 +14 80
4 Millwall 46 +19 78
5 Walsall 46 +16 78
6 Bradford 46 +10 77
7 Barnsley 46 +14 76
8 Scunthorpe 46 +11 71

No chance we get anything like 90 points. We will struggle to get 80.

5 Bradford 46 +15 83
6 Barnsley 46 +18 80
7 Walsall 46 +14 74
8 Southend 46 +7 70

Just looking at fixtures, we had best be looking over our shoulders. I fancy Bradford and Barnsley to win a lot of their remaining games with Millwall being strong. We are going to draw too much and we can't win at home to save love nor money, so I expect us to be only beat Shrewsbury of the remaining 4 home games.

Very very pessimistic again Saddlerrad but at least you are consistent with your negative pessimism ha ha. Surely we will get more points than what you are predicting? We have 3 straight away games now which for most teams would be a challenge but given our amazing away form and distinctly average home form could work in our favour! Our season will be defined in the next 2 weeks now my opinion

Do you really think you will get just 6 points from your last 9 games? I still have you down for finishing 2nd, think Burton will struggle from here on in.

Also don't think we will finish with 83 points. That'd require 6 wins and a draw from our last 7, which won't happen.

I think we shall beat Shrewsbury at home, then draw 3/4 others. Oldham fighting for their lives, Gillingham immense at home, big games at Bradford. Plus we are turd at home and it would really just 'rub us up' in true Walsall style to lose at home to Swindon and Southend, two teams playing for nothing but pride.

Hope I'm wrong though.

The top four last season were a league apart from the rest though. Even if Wigan won every game from here on in they still wouldn't reach our points total from last season.

Yeah but they were good.

But (as people keep telling us), the league is the shittest it's been ever ever ever this year.

The points on offer are the same as they were last season!

That's true, but the teams at the top this year aren't as good as the teams at the top last year in comparison with the rest of the league IMO.

Anyone who has seen our last 2 performances will understand thoroughly that us getting to 74 points will be a very tough task.

I have seen all 38 games this season, let alone the last two and I believe we still have the performances and results in us to challenge the top 2.

Hope so bud.

Be nice if we could end the season well after all the hard results and some excellent performances along the way.

Saddlerrad, being ever the optimist or pessimist:doh:ive got Walsall down for 78 points after 40 games and us having 81.
In that form say we only draw either 1 or both our last 2 games, then then I think you will pip us and then we get beat about 10-0 on aggregate against whoever in the play offs, cause we'll be mentally fooked.
Dreading that scenario because after watching play offs on sky every fucker will be on here saying what a truly shit team Burton are and how the fuck have they been up top all season blah blah blah.
