Okay just over halfway in - which managers are on the point of being fired.

Chris Wilder was on the naughty step but 7 points from 9 having taken him out of danger..
Wayne Burnett is not in the good books of Dagenham fans and after a toothless defeat to NTFC he must be in danger.
Oxfords fans are not a happy bunch with Michael Appleton and Pompey fans think Awford is Awful...

I think Awford is out the door as soon as he loses another game. They might give him a stay of execution until the first week of Feb when we play Hartlepool and Dagenham but poor results in either of those matches and he is gone.

Just make sure he does not go before we get Holmes signed off!

Burnett is once again very much on the tightrope with us, with 1 goal in our last 7 games I reckon that's probably fair enough.

Ricky Holmes is a good player but he'll be injured again before too long!
If he had not received that injury in the winter of 2013 (I can't exactly remember when), we would not have been relegated.

If Plymouth Argyle fans are to get their way John Sheridan will be out the door soon.

Personally, I think we have too many knee-jerkers in the crowd and can't see Brent getting rid. However, with that being said, if the fans kick up enough of a fuss it won't be the first time fans have got a manager sacked.

I'd like us to get him back if we can, but it seems like he's staying with you either til the end of the season or if Awford is sacked.

Ha. My Barnet supporting colleague mentioned the very fact to me.

So he's looked quality for us, just what we need, and he had a part to play in relegating Barnet. This bloke could be my new hero!!

Joking.

How many managers would it be down here for Pompey if they did sack Awford? 4 or 5?

Andy Awford is gone after today. The chairman put in his programme notes that today was a "must win" game and we lost it after going a goal up. Fans chanting "you don't know what you're doing" at Awford when he took Barcham off shows that he has lost the vast majority of the fans' support and the board almost certainly think the same.

To answer your question Richard, it would be 4 once Awford goes. Tells you something about our board, doesn't it?

Doesn't look good for Awford.... No win since Nov 22nd? I think most managers would be under pressure after a run like that.

It's not just that but it's the manner of those results too. The last two home games have seen us take the lead only to squander it, the previous two matches at Fratton Park were an abysmal defeat to Wimbledon and a shocker of a result at home to Accrington when we got the game back to 2-2 only to lose 3-2. We also gave Micky Adams his first league win as Tranmere manager (I think) and the only "good" result since that win over Morecambe was an unexpected 1-1 draw at Luton.

Everyone has had enough and it is time for him to go, sadly.

Please do not sack him before we can take the shocking Ricky Holmes off your hands.

Sorry Pompey supporters, but this has caused much amusement amongst the AFC Wimbledon fans.

He been playing well for you, then?

He was our player of the season last season but he had obviously had a falling out with Awford.

Anyone have a rough idea what Pompeys budget is this season? Someone mentioned Waddock replacing Awford possibly. I would be shocked if they couldn't tempt a better manager than that!

I have no idea how much our budget is but if we can sign Tubbs then it can't be small. Having said that, if they did appoint Waddock then I think that would tell you something...

If they appoint Waddock then god help them, look at what happened at Oxford last season when he took over! :dk:

I know he got you promoted but what do Wycombe fans generally feel about him?

A joke to most Wycombe fans. He should have been sacked 7/8 months before and we would have had a chance of staying in League 1 that season.

The opposite to this thread - Gareth Ainsworth recently signed a contract lasting 5.5 years at Wycombe.
