Decided to get here early after missing all of the sights on my last visit. It's a lovely city, especially up top near the cathedral. Enjoying a coffee in the sun, and expecting a party atmosphere today - the street vendors have already declared Lincoln champions.

In a way, the loss on Friday has taken the pressure off us today as autos are now unrealistic. I think Lincoln will win comfortably, but who knows in this league?

Important for Rovers not to lose any more players and keep some momentum going for the play-offs. Think we’ll lose, but the manner of defeat could shape the rest of our season.

Congratulations to Champions elect Lincoln, on their promotion. I’m a big fan of the Cowley brothers with what they’ve achieved at Concord, Braintree and now Lincoln, wouldn’t swap them for our Micky though!
Tranmere have got a really poor record at Sincil Bank. Harold Wilson was Prime Minister and Baby Love by the Supremes was No1 in the charts last time we won there.
I would like to see Dagnall,Mullin,Smith and Gilmour all start today with possibly Tollitt coming off the bench.

Pablo, I think you’re going to need something stronger than coffee to drink today lad!

As expected a few changes for us. A bit more know how with O'Connor and Rhead starting.

was thinking along the same lines my self , we have played the same team pretty much since our terrific run . some of the lads need a run especially since we picked up a few injuries , be delighted with a draw today think a win would be a tall order but who knows we are tranmere after all . swa swa

Tough physical game, with Lincoln well on top but so far not really testing Scotty. On the rare occasion we counter we've been fluffing our lines. It's a bit like the Alamo, that was a long half.

Rhead up to his usual panto villain antics! :bg:

Decent result at the Champions, but losing 2 more defenders to injury the last thing we needed.

A good point, we defended well. Two clean sheets against the champions, but 1-0 to them on pitch invasions. Congrats to Lincoln, highlight of the day was Cowley recruiting ball boys out of the crowd mid game. Excellent tinpot behaviour all round!

Very good game that. Thought we dominant, especially in the first half. We really should have scored a few today but for poor finishing and some brilliant defending. Tranmere had a few chances as well, but most of them came about from unforced errors from us.

Bit disappointed that we didn't get the deserved victory, but huge credit to Tranmere who defended thier 6 box supberly throughout the game. Great atmosphere from both sets of fans.

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

You had a lot of possession but the better chances fell to us, Draw was probably a fair reflection of the game but from our point of view we need to be putting chances away.

I enjoyed that, though I thought we had the best chances in an otherwise even second half. 3 or 4 gilt edged opportunities ended up wide. Lincoln obviously had their chances too, most notably the one cleared off the line by Caprice, but their passing was nearly as bad as our finishing and they looked out of sorts after the break.

First half they had us on toast, but didn't really threaten scoring. Probably a fair result overall, but we could easily have taken the points.

Enjoy your promotion, Imps, and thanks for having us.

I'm not sure that's true. We had the one on one after 4 mins that O'Connor should have put away, rhead had one stopped off the line that looked a cert to go in and Rowe or Anderson missed an absolute sitter when it was on a plate. They really all should have been goals.

I'm not saying you didn't have chances, I just thought ours more clear cut. That could be my bias memory though, I'm sure the highlights will clear it up!

I'll be honest for the last 5 minutes I wasn't really watching the match once I realised we were champions so you could have had a bucket full of chances then.

Curious one..

The last time Lincoln won this league, they failed to beat us and we were also promoted.

Lincoln win league, Tranmere take 4pts... promotion? :woo:

Ona selfish note I would like for you to come up, closest game to me! So please to do.

Just to add, I was really worried going in today's game off the back of playing with 10 men for 60 minutes on Friday. Thankfully it didn't seem to effect the players at all.

As Wangle said we definitely had the better chances, wasteful when in great goal scoring positions at least 3 times. Tranmere definitely came more into it in the second half after being on the ropes for the first 45. Thought we got our mojo back a bit more at SB today and the crowd responded, just a shame we couldn't go on to win.

Still, 3 trophies in 3 seasons and playing the likes of Bolton and Ipswich on a level field next season, unbelievable turnaround compared to staring down the barrel of the NLN only a short time ago.

We’re ravaged by injuries again unfortunately.

We played 3 in the middle during our good run but Perkins and McCullough have both been out injured. Now only have 1 fit centre back too, not ideal.

I'm not going debate who had the best chances as both teams had decent chances to score.

Not sure if it's normal for Tranmere but a lot of arguing/bickering (certainly from where I was) between players for most of the game.

Cracking atmosphere at the bank today as well, one of the best this season- helps having 900 away fans who actually sing.

Another first for me- never seen the Imps win a football league title (plastic that I am, only watched them for 37 years).

Atmosphere was great at times, the roof would have gone off with a goal apiece but wasn't to be

Great afternoon made better by both a team actually wanting to play and not just sit as well as their fans making it a cracking atmosphere.
I'm guessing Mr Norwood left his shooting boots at home today as he didn't half fluff some chances especially later in the second half, was it the knock he was carrying?
Like strangely brown I've been going 37 years too and still can't believe this run we're having.
However the still have a little to go to be the equal or better the Colin Murphy side I first watched as a kid who so nearly made it to the second tier.
Good luck Tranmere in the playoffs, proper club.

Hard to say. On two of the chances he had already beaten the defenders and just seemed to scuff the shots.

Worst possible scenario for us with this tiny top 3 chance still there we can’t rest anyone, not ideal with a mounting injury list.

Spoke to a couple Lincoln fans on the way back to my car who agreed Draw was fair result and said they hoped we got promoted.

Lincoln surely look into some kind of quick stadium development in the summer to add seats in?

Makes you realise the depth we've had since January, which has in part got us over the line. Bolger for Shackell, O'Connor for Pett and Rowe for Anderson aren't too shabby a changes to make, and then to bring McCartan on as well. No surprise Rhead started because if we haven't won for a couple of games he usually comes back in, generally helps Akinde out and helps us pin teams in.

I thought there was a massive gulf between the teams for the first 45 minutes. Tranmere didn't get anywhere near us and whilst we didn't pepper their goal, O'Connor's got to score his one-on-one early doors and both Rowe and Andrade were half a yard from getting in between the CB's and FB's. Tranmere were hitting everything long and the majority of the time it was over hit and going straight through. We were pressing and winning the balls back brilliantly and kept the ball moving wide.

Second half was more even of the back of a double change at HT from Mellon, but we still created the two clearest chances - Rhead off the line and O'Hara late on. Tranmere's two decent chances - wide at the far post early in the second half and Norwood on his weak foot (did he slip as he shot?), were as a result of us playing a silly ball into midfield from CB.

I'm not entirely sure what Mellon was trying to achieve this afternoon. They weren't overly defensive, but by the same token didn't go for it either. They seemed to be caught halfway and a as a result didn't really perform. With Tranmere already basically in the PO's before the game, I thought he'd gamble a bit more, especially with Mansfield and MK dropping points early into the afternoon. That said, Norwood still has that aura about him where he'll just get in somewhere because of how good his movement is.

Norwood will be a big miss for Tranmere next season if he doesn't stay. I know that's stating the obvious given that he's their top scorer but every time a Tranmere player got the ball, it was 'hit Norwood' and everything revolves around him. It doesn't matter at the minute, but they looked far too reliant on him on that performance.

Great atmosphere, though. Makes a huge difference with an away end full of people who want to help create one. If felt like a proper game between two proper sides, backed by two sets of supporters willing their sides on.

Firstly congratulations to Lincoln. Thoroughly deserved that title and all the best in League 1 next season. Have really enjoyed our games over the last couple of years and here’s hoping there’s more to come next season!

Sounds like we did well to stay in it at half time before making a right good game of it second half. Not bad considering the injuries we have at the moment. Another big away support in what sounded like a top top atmosphere.

Looks like it’ll be the playoffs. If you had said that to me when we were down in 19th in the National League last season I’d have told ya to fuck off! What a season we’ve had. Genuinely not bothered if we don’t go up this season. Think we’ll follow Lincoln in getting playoffs this season and promotion next. The club’s in a great place with a brilliant connection from the board to the fans and it’s an exciting time to be a Rovers fan!

We nearly went out of it in our first two seasons in the national league, we were terrible for 5 years down there until the Cowleys arrived.
Both had amazing upturns in fortune.
Best of luck in the playoffs

Nope only a few hundred being added, get the feeling you guys will be the first of many to get part of the Stacey West so we can get in as many home fans as possible.
The club have two longer terms options redevelop the ground or have a new ground built a short distance away.
Just worried it could take too long with either and momentum will be lost.

Can't you add something more substantial to the big stand that straddles the halfway line one side of the pitch? Knock down the small bit next to it and fill the other gap to the Stacey West? I'm guessing this is easier said than done, or you'd already be looking into it, doesn't seem to be much more scope to develop the ground apart from there.
