Macc have somehow managed to jump up a place in the table during the coronavirus outbreak.

Timing is a bit odd really, but there you have it.

Problem is they have two more charges at least don’t they so likely get some added back on!

Yea, the 3 suspended points we now have will definitely come in so that'll be -7. Not quite sure how the EFL has decided any of this.

Probably all irrelevant anyway as we're due back into court next Wednesday after it was adjourned for 70 days to allow the takeover that Amar said was going to happen to go through. That obviously hasn't happened so can't see that court appearance going well. How the virus affects any of this is completely unknown; the WUPs due to be seen today have been put back until next week so who knows when we'll be appearing. Also we're obviously incredibly vulnerable to the loss of income from the pandemic.

This appeal outcome probably makes the least difference to anything that any appeal has ever made.

Macc get 2 points back in a season that almost certainly won't finish, and even if it ever does then will only get further points deducted anyway.

So, assuming the league is eventually null and void and we start from scratch, do Macclesfield still have these minus points? I suspect not. Years ago when I lived in sarf London a local train station only had a few trains stop a day. Once a train stopped by accident, and someone got off, the guard told him to get back on as the train had not stopped. The commuter's response was "If this train has not stopped you cannot have seen me getting off." I think the same will apply to Macclesfield, the season did not happen, so how can they be penalised? Mine you they might not exist anyway.

Yeah dont worry about any of that, I doubt there'll be a Macclesfield Town Football Club much longer.

I would assume that they will have to serve their punishment, similar to those who gained cautions and red cards, they will not be rescinded.

I agree but I think that we could be the tip of the iceberg if things carry on much longer and more clubs could go bust

Bad times for their fans there.

Hard to see how they’ll survive

If they go bust, does their playing record get expunged this season?

Depends if any more games are played this season I suppose. The one slight positive is that is that we're still not bottom even with 11 points now deducted.

What's the point? Deducting points is pointless.

A few years ago Chester went bust mid-season in the Conference, their results were expunged.
yes, I remember that, taking 6 points from us while everyone around them somehow hadn’t beaten them

They were supposed to be playing us on a Tuesday evening, their players hadn't been paid so they refused to get on the coach...game postponed.

We had already beaten them in the away game, so our loss was three points...plus the income from the home game!

However, it should be remembered that the impact for Chester, fans and players, etc, was far more severe.

Have a feeling Macc will get relegated again if they go down

They won't go down. Seasons finished. If anyone goes it will be Stevenage.

I'd worry more about them going bust tbh, but you never know, maybe by the time football restarts they might have new owners.

More likely just not be allowed into the National in the first place.

I'm 95% sure we won't survive as the same club now.

Gateshead were allowed in NLN despite being kicked out of the National League - so there's possibly that option if things get really bad?

I’m sure Boston got chucked through the conference into the conference north.

They were still in it so they got relegated again into the northern premier.

Case adjourned until 9th September. I'm assuming this one is separate to the EFL disciplinary one?

yep - i think the EFL were just hoping they might get wound up though - to save them having to make a decision
