Really not looking forward to this as it's ripe for an upset.

We're in disarray and they seem really up for it. Three more injuries from last Saturday of which none have trained since and won't until Saturday at best. One loanee refused permission to play by his parent club.

To sum it up here's a snippet from an interview with Sturrock yesterday. The club took it down and edited this bit out but not before someone had manage to grab it.

*Warning: Contains fruity language. Also may need subtitles.

Sturrock was asked about the defensive situation given two key players went off injured last Saturday. His response was "If Smithy and Sokolik don't make we're f***ed".

Great. Just what you want to hear from your manager :brill::surr:

Why on Earth did the club put it up in the first place? Or could they just not understand what he was saying?

This has been the season of League Two managers swearing.

I think, given your situation with a lack of players, we have a good chance of winning this one. We're in terrific form, only one goal conceded in eight games now I think (to a former Stone no less). If nothing else I'd be okay with a replay.

A momentary aberration. Or was it someone having some fun. Knowing the guy who looks after that side of things it could've been...

I agree totally. Wouldn't be surprised at a replay.

Stones 2-1.

I think I read that Yeovil are returning to Somerset before travelling down to us on the tuesday for the JPT - they're gonna be knackered from coming to Kent twice in 3 days surely!

He's right, to be fair...

At what point does it become more of an upset if we win?

Am I missing a joke here or something? It's only a 3 hour drive isn't it?

I just find it peculiar that they'll be doing 6 hours travelling plus a game on the sunday, then another 3 hours before a game 48 days later. What benefit is there to having the monday in Somerset considering the day after a game is normally just a rest day anyway?

Very peculiar.

Who would want to stay in Kent for that long? :bg:

We're all wondering why as well. Sturrock hasn't given a reason for not staying over.

Our starting XI has 5 players who are not 100% fit including one who's making his Yeovil debut having been out for the season so far. We've also signed 37 year old Darren Ward this morning and he's gone straight into the team.

Interestingly we're playing 352 so don't expect us to be too attacking.

That is not good news for Yeovil, like many I thought they'd struggle, but with 10 men I can't see them getting anything.

Dickson could easily have gone for that elbow. Yellow probably right though.

Absolutely, clotheslined him. Ref bottled it because he'd already sent one of our players off.

Wow, we were absolutely fucking terrible. The early red probably didn't help us out, strange as it is, but we were so so inexcusably poor.

Congratulations to Yeovil, and good luck in the next round.

It may sound strange, but I think you might well have a point.

Thanks, not really sure how we won. It was a terrible game.

Hopefully we can take advantage of some tired legs on tuesday night. We really ought to.

Thought I saw him playing - must be getting on a bit but experience will help.

Yes he's 37 and was a free agent but to be honest he was exactly what we needed yesterday. Used his experience really well and was great for some of the younger players around him.

Did you go yesterday? If so what did you make of Sokoliks red at the time? Have to admit at the time I thought it was harsh, but having watched the replay it was pure stupidity jumping in like that...

Thought we were excellent defensively (bar the 2 reds of course) and Ward was at the heart of it, agree he's exactly what we need.

Also agree with the above that the reds actually helped our cause, as it put the pressure all on Maidstone and we could sit back and hope to nick one on the break. Truthfully, bar the last 10 mins they didn't create anything to worry us, and I'm sure they'll be disappointed with that, as our 9 men were really there for the taking.

Overall though a great away day, and hopefully one that can kickstart our season with some crucial games coming up in the next few weeks.
