That point gives Koeman the best start to a league season for an Everton manager after eight games for a long time, I can't remember the exact stat. Had he managed a win it would have been the best ever start for an Everton manager. Not bad.

Only Spurs have conceded less goals than Everton which shows Koeman is trying to sort out our Achilles heel.

Maybe other 'blues' some on here will possibly start to see I was right all along.

Once we start plying well we can compete for a top 6 spot.

Until that second half, I thought Williams was a shoe in for man of the match, just manages to get in front of everything. Stekelenburg though...okay City had tons of the ball, but didnt really create a whole lot first half, it did though keep feeling like if we keep letting them come at us, one will sneak through. The goal we did end up conceding was a frustrating one, but then when Stekelenburg saves 2 pens and makes two other absolutely brilliant saves that second half, got to be pleased with a point. Lukaku's goal was a beaut. Thing is, as well as we defended in the box, I thought we should have done better, both full backs kept coming in too narrow and letting City get their crosses in, Cleverley is just bloody poor all round (though I understand why he played instead of Barkley, who has been a total liability lately and would have been a horror in our midfield today, and had McCarthy been 100% fit, I think he'd have started instead of just coming on second half) and Deulofeu was so weak in possession, we actually had a few other good chances to break away, only for them to break down with him. Only really when Bolasie started seeing more of the ball second half did we look like we were ever going to break away and score one.

Its not perfect, but we're only 4 points off top and only 1 defeat while we're not perfect so Ill take that for now. So much more solid than last season with Williams, Gueye and Stekelenburg. Need Baines back though. Oviedo is poor, would sooner see Funes Mori playing left back while Baines is missing than him.
