expect a city backlash, especially with the Title on the line.

Expect Jose to play safe, despite Liverpool showing a clear sign how to break city apart. Plus our result against Liverpool, abeit at home should we can shut out the better attacks.

Personally i'd like us to start with Martial, Lukakku and Rashford as the front 3. Matic sitting, Pogba and Sanchez floating. Attactive but if we play the normal defensive way we will get opened up. If City have all the ball, we won't score. I can't see city not scoring. Quite happy to be wrong and a defensive masterclass on show, but with some outlet.

Head says 2-1
Heart says 0-1

Pep says City were offered Pogba 2 months ago. Damning for Man Utd and Mourinho.

Jeez. It’s bad enough Liverpool chucking flares and bottles at them without United trying to chuck some shit over, too!

It's good that City can win the title today, otherwise they'd have more of an eye on next weeks second leg. As it is given that they're at home and against their most hated rivals, they will want to win this, so will play a strong team.

Unfortunately for City Mourinho will have only one thing on his mind - stop City winning the title against his team. Couple that with United being away from home and I expect a Mourinho special; a packed defence and little in the way of exciting football. In short, he'd sooner avoid losing than win. And he'll succeed I suspect.

1-1

Man United are second in the league, but when you watch them you sometimes wonder how. Agreed, it is very unlikely Mourinho's team will go at City with the sort of attacking flair Liverpool showed in the CL tie, and they might burgle a point. However, as a pundit said last night, this is probably not going to happen again if you are Man City; a chance to crush your hated rivals and win the league at the same time. It will go down in Man City's history as one of their best ever days, if not the best ever day.

Whether City win 5-0 or 1-0 innthe last second, it won’t better THE moment.

Possibly coming back from 3-0 down to win 4-3 (for the first time this week.. wibble) might come close, or perhaps hitting double figures or something, but it’s not anywhere near all-or-nothing here.

Really? So what was THE moment?

City fans from before they were moneyed say Dickov's goal was THE moment.

There are several on YouTube. It was THE moment until the next THE moment. In context of today and rubbing United’s noses into things - as was implied in the initial post- the QPR game was bigger than Gillingham and will be bigger than today.

In all honesty, Wembley was more important than QPR, because it started the climb back and as Leeds etc have shown, there is no guarantee that you can come back from that. But while it was all or nothing at that moment, there was then half an hour or extra time and penalties. Weaver’s penalty save was every bit as important on the day.

City fans of the vintage who remember the Dickov moment will deliberate long and hard over which is the better moment. But I’d say that in overall importance, it was Dickov, but there was still every chance that Gillingham could still win it in ET or on penalties, and as a single moment in time it as Aguero, because that was ‘it’. Failure into success in a fraction of a second.

All the Gillingham fans I know are incredibly bitter about it. "It should've been us." They say over and over again. "It should've been us that was the vehicle to launder the reputation of an unethical and inhumane regime!"
And I try to calm them down and I tell them they are a beautiful, independent football club that don't need no Sheikh. But they don't listen.

Why is nobody talking about the fact that Pogba (who was offered to City according to Pep) has turned up with sky blue hair?

He's had it like that for over a week now, an eternity in Pogba hair time.

It might be 4-0 if Sterling wasn't playing on ice.
