Few posters from each club on here so fuck it let’s have a Fred.

Big game with Lincoln/Bury playing each other and all the 4 sides currently in the Play offs playing away it could be a good weekend to extend the 3 point gap we have currently.

We’ve not got a right back so looks like Hamilton will start there again which I’m not overly confident with.

How many Tranmere fans do we reckon?

I’ll go for the low number of 350 as I think our bubble has been burst.
Not sure if I’ll make the journey myself, can feel a bout of cantbearseditus coming on.

I think we will take 5-700.

The new signings this week have given us a boost, but Ishmael Miller needs an operation and is out for the season, after playing only twenty minutes of his home debut last week. Very bad news for us and severely limits our options up front.

Mansfield are the best side I have seen this season, so I would be delighted with a point. The seven or eight fixtures which follow this match look kinder, if we can get through Saturday relatively unscathed.

It would be good to see tranmere bring a good 500, no-one has really managed a big following yet this season which is a shame.

I’d view tranmere followed by FG on Tuesday as a massive 2 games in our season, 4 from that and I’ll be delighted, like tranmere our run is more “friendly” afterwards.

The game at PP was a challenging one for us and we were probably a little lucky to get away with the draw though walker missed a sitter later on

Any risk of a postponement? Temperatures forecasted to rise a little around the weekend, but still cold.

I am planning to go to this one, not seen a game at Mansfield before. Miller out is bad news while I'm unsure new signing Pringle will start, I think Mansfield will have too much for us, but hope we can make a fight of it.

Would really surprise me looking at the forecast. Although that hasn't stopped us before

We’d sold 400 by this afternoon, so will probably be around 600.

Can we actually not start a game slow for once, get a early goal and settle the nerves? Be great,

Tranmere have decided the best way to defend is to literally kick the shit out of us, absolutely ridiculous challenges.

The ref got it wrong with banks for their sending off though, was never a 2nd yellow it was a straight red.

Bizarre really as when they attack they look decent

Will have to take the nice things I said about Mr Toner on the Ross Joyce thread back. Far too easily gone for his cards and missed the sly kick from Grant when he booked McCulloch. Banks was stupid, but it’s hardly been a blood-bath.

Mansfield the better side though so far.

There wasn’t any need for you to deploy the tactics you did though, you looked more than capable of playing football tbh. Even mcnulty at the ripe old age of 64 was still doing alright.

As for us, pretty convincing football, the quality of play going forward was quality and we’ve really a good chance of going places with this set of players. Good move by Flitcroft to take off bishop after 60 minutes as only a booking away from suspension. He’ll be needed at FG Tuesday night.

Avoid defeat there and I’ll be happy

He gave you lot a few chances before booking, it was embarrassing from Tranmere Grant in particular was running rings round the lot of ya then everybody in white lost their rag like some Sunday league team.

I think we played really well today and I was more than confident of the result before the sending off, we just looked dangerous going forward and Grant was absolutely on it, gem of a free kick too!

Ironically I think the only thing the referee got wrong is that penalty shout at the end, surely that was one?

The tranmere lot were funny to watch, they misdirected the anger at the referee instead of the players who frankly lost it in that first half.

I thought the performance from Toner the Homer was pathetic today: numerous free kicks and several bookings given for minimal offences from Rovers players. However, the red card was the right decision.

It s frustrating, because I thought we were well in the game prior to the sending off. There was not much between the teams, and we arguably had the greater attacking threat through Caprice on the right hand side.

Our midfield looks a lot better in possession with Perkins in the side, who should prove to be a good signing.

Completely disagree Tranmere were consistently dishing out cynical fouls (20 fouls in the first half) he actually let the first two go because they were in the first ten minutes which is wrong in my opinion, but it was non-stop in the first half and was clearly to try and disrupt our play.

Bar one horror challenge from Banks, the rest were just blatant wrestling to the ground, putting a leg out etc so it was not a ‘throw a punch’ or as some call it ‘a lincoln’ but nevertheless it was poor, they completely lost their heads in that first half it was a tad embarrassing.

I think we were definitely the bigger threat beforehand too, although Caprice did have a few good runs down the side to be fair.

I reckon the biggest mistake was our penalty call late on but I would like to see that again.

The challenges from tranmere in the first half were frankly ridiculous, they were cynical and dirty, the challenge for the red (now on highlights) was shocking. The ref must have seemed a “homer” as we played decent football and didn’t commit daft fouls here there and everywhere

I suspect tranmere had conferencesyndrome about them today.

We have not even got the players to play the kind of physical game that has been alleged above. I have seen Toner on numerous occasions and he has been consistently terrible.

Simply repeating the number of 'fouls' he gave in the first half is not admissable evidence, as most of those 'fouls' were not fouls.

Maybe some of the little ones weren’t, each and every card was clearly correct, he was left with little choice.

As said, had tranmere played their game which they threatened to do at times they’d be a genuine threat.

Like I said the Tranmere fans at the game misdirected their anger towards the referee instead of the professional footballers representing them, it’s understandable to be fair.

Was always gonna be a toughie at moneybags mansfield, but became a complete write off when we went down to ten. The amount of times we've had players sent off early on in games over the last 5 or 6 seasons is ridiculous. The only time it's happened the other way round is wrexham last season. And we still lost.

We had Mr Toner in our opening home game back in the FL v Cheltenham and he was fine then. May just be one of those officials who has an inbuilt home bias. Got the impression it was going to be one of those days, when he gave Mellon a talking to in the opening ten minutes. No idea what for, Micky can be fairly vocal on the touchline, but isn't usually one of the awkward squad so far as referees are concerned. While there were a couple of silly pushes by our players in the opening minutes, didn't merit or get anything more than a free-kick. However Mansfield players went to ground very easily later on and invariably got a free-kick.

Of the five bookings, McCullough was tussling with Grant, looked like sixes/half dozens at first glance, though Grant kicked out at McCullough without sanction. Thought a harsh yellow.

No argument with the McNulty yellow, though did wonder if Mansfield were offside in the build-up to the foul, though hard to call from behind the goal.

I thought the first Banks card could have been red, studs showing, taking the man. Didn't get a clear enough view of the second yellow, but in his situation incredibly stupid to even attempt the challenge.

Monthe's was in the middle of the park, a show of strength kind of tussle, didn't merit anything more than a free-kick.

It's a shame that we're talking about the referee so much, as even with a more even-handed referee, the home side would have won comfortably. If Rovers are the dirtiest opponent Mansfield have come up against, they must have got away very lightly.

I can't believe what I am reading. That Monthe challenge described above was the most obvious booking you will ever see, Ajose rolled him so Monthe pulled him back to stop the break. That's a booking.

Even if you think the Monthe challenge was a foul - which I don't - it was a tussle on the halfway line as described by Boz above, was not in a dangerous area, and definitely did not merit a yellow card.

A number of the bookings were marginal at best, and a better referee would have kept his cards in his pocket and allowed the game to flow.

Okay so we should just no longer book players for deliberately resetting the pitch with a foul then. Come on!
