As much as I'm all for a meritocracy and both teams deserve to make the play offs you can't have Dover AND Braintree in the POs. Makes it very hard to ref them out of it. And imagine if one if them went up?

Considering the patchy form of FGR and Grimsby, plus of course Tranmere, my money would be on Dover versus either Eastleigh or Braintree in the final. With one of those three being promoted you may well be facing your worst nightmare.

Teams should be falling over themselves to finish 5th so they can play us. Whoever does stands a great chance of getting to Wembley. If Hurst has a brain he'll throw the game at Woking tonight.

Our form was pretty poor going into our Wembley double season of 97/98. We won only 3 of our last 12 league games that season and most Town fans feared the worst when we had "moneybags" Fulham in the play-off semi's, but we saw them off by the odd goal over 2 legs and then beat Northampton in the final, so I'm not overly worried about our form to be honest. I'm more worried that we're not actually going to make the play-offs, having looked nailed-on a few games ago.

Me too, having gone from challenging Cheltenham for promotion it all looks like turning a bit sour. A few weeks ago I would have bet on us meeting yourselves at Wembley, assuming that neither of us could go up automatically...for a blow-up toy extravaganza...but now I'm not so sure that is at all likely.

I think you might be right. FGR and Grimsby are exhibiting classic 'blown themselves out before the play offs' traits, which we at Wrexham know all about!

At least if Dover win the play offs it would mean Eastleigh havent.

Definately yes.
Although we only need 4 points from last 3 games to be guaranteed a place in them (barring a 23 goal turnaround by Braintree) so cannot see us missing out.
But actually winning them on the other hand...........
