What a waste of time. A total half measure that the players won't see any benefit of.

I wonder how many teams will use this 'break' to jet their players off thousands of miles away for warm weather training.

And then they'll complain come April and May that their players are tired, yet fail to realise it's because they have post season tours, pre-season tours, a 38 game PL schedule, deep runs in the cup and in Europe and their players have to play in internationals, which again require them to travel long distances.

I wouldn't ever want to see it happen, but if they are going to do a winter break, go all out like they do for the Bundesliga.

Absolute pile of shite. If you're going to do it, do it properly.

3 weeks off where the players get proper time off to go on holiday for 2 weeks in late Jan/ early Feb with no club trips abroad allowed and no staggered games.1 week training camp.

Start the EPL season a week earlier and sack off the league cup to allow for more midweek games to make up for the time off.

Well it's a start. Maybe us League Two clubs could pick up a few extra fans when we have a full programme.

Not all that fussed about fifth round replays, but if they really want to do something why not get rid of two legged league Cup semis
