...or above expectations v no expectations.

Morecambe have had a great start to the season and are in the higher reaches while we started well, got a nosebleed and fell away.

I have a lot if time for the Shrimpers. A good club, a good manager and good fans. Now I've been nice can we have the points please?

Last week, against Luton, the inclusion of Glenn Morris in goal had a calming influence over the defence (even though he got lucky with a dropped catch). He is meant to be the keeping coach so it will be interesting to see if he starts again. Why change a winning team?

I just have a sneaking suspicion that we will get a 1-1 draw but really I see Morecambe winning 2 or 3 - 1.

You were going so well and then called us Shrimpers........:told:

Southend are the Shrimpers (boats used for Shrimping) Morecambe are the Shrimps :2thumb:

So no you cannot have the points. Our Brazilian takeover has been ratified this morning so we are now expecting samba football on the pitch and a carnival off it. Will make a change from the usual circus but tbh i have absolutely no idea what to expect from either. :dk:

Will go for a hard fought home win 2 v 1 with Dunn and Ellison to score

A lot of fondness for Morecambe who do terrific in league 2. Make sure you win, any chance of getting Pele over for some weekend, naturally all expenses paid

Haha, no problem Casey, the BBC can't get it right either so we are used to it. A proper September day beside the seaside awaits anyone coming this afternoon. A very cold breeze is blowing with showers exected around KO. Still thinking we'll just edge this one to put the memories of Doncaster last home game behind us.

Listened on the player. I've not been to Morecambe since we lost 5-0.

To say that was a slow burner is an understatement. 0-0 first half, 0-1 after 70mins, 2-3 at the end. Phew! Nobody likes losing but at least Shrimps can say they gave it a go.

I look forward to hearing a decent account of the game.

Your wish is my command (although it was 6-0, and 3-1 last season) -

Excellent day out.

We were sloppy first half but Morecambe didn't take advantage.
Better in the 2nd and we started passing to each other more, and around the hour mark they had a goal disallowed for offside. Then Yussuf came on and turned the game on it's head with a cool finish. Cue pandemonium (well, as much pandemonium as you can get with 75 ish fans) and many renditions (to the tune of Allouette) of Adi Yussuf, Adi Adi Yussuf. You had to be there.
There's even a reasonable song for Enzio to the tune of "Gold".
More good work on the by line from Adi and a simple pass for a James Collins tap in (that bloke runs his nuts off for the team).
Then they score from a well taken free kick near the end and it gets a bit nervy.
As the announcer states 4 mins of added on time, a similar pass as for the 2nd and a cool finish from our tireless captain(Jimmy Smith) and "they think it's all over". Doh!

Excellent finish for their 2nd, then big Joe (I think) throws himself in front of a goal-bound effort and blocks it.

Then, the final whistle. Crazy game. Morecambe fans will probably feel hard done by.

My Mom - just Adi ahead of Kabi but they all put themselves out for the team.

Still too shocked to respond to be honest. Totally agree with 1st half appraisal above. First goal was going to be critical and we had a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside with Murphy at least 3 yards on. We then make a mistake for their first and the rest is history.

We have a good young team and you can understand them making errors. When they are joined by totally inept officials it makes it really hard.

Will take me a few days yet to get over fully. Well done to the 77 that travelled they looked to really enjoy themselves.
