For us, Exeter are the visitors, 5th in the home form table meets 7th in the away table, though they are the definition of inconsistent with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats in the last 6 games.

We tried to rest some players today v Charlton (esp. top scorer Kone) so I'm assuming that this means we will go with a full strength side vs Exeter, but there are a shitload of games to be played over the next few weeks so who knows.

Out of the rest of the games, Barnsley/Wxm is the one that stands out for me - wank home form (Barnsley 23rd in the home form table) vs upper mid-table away form for Wxm, hard to call. Please no more stoppage time winners though, Disney scriptwriters.

Interested to see if new Gas gaffer Calderon can do a bit better than his debut showing of getting pumped 3-0 by Stevenage also - obviously he will have had sod all time so far with the players to actually bed in any new ideas so far, but the relentless rush of games around this time won't afford him the luxury of time. And the reverse fixture also saw the Gas take a 3-0 pasting - the bar is low here, but BRFC don't have much wiggle room before being seen as a genuine relegation contender.

Monk to be sacrificed at the Abbey.

Mead for all comers, he surely cannot repent. A 20% win rate is beyond piety.

Hopefully we see the second half team from yesterday rather than the first. It's clear that games are taking their toll, but Harper, Mitchell and Magennis need to start to give us a chance.

When we lost to Crawley a few weeks ago, we were in a rut and playing some of the most ineffective football I've ever seen. After that game many were calling for Jones to go. For the return fixture, we go in with a bit of momentum and are playing much better football (still nowhere near what I'd call good). Jones has introduced width into the team and Tyreece Campbell and Thierry Small have excelled out wide. It will be a different game to when we lost to Crawley a few weeks ago. Hopefully our more attacking style of play can see us get a few past their leaky defence

Rotherham and then Stevenage for us, I don't think you can get two more direct sides back to back!

Jackson was back on the bench yesterday after having his cheekbone smashed at Rotherham in the reverse fixture and he'll start in place of Montsma. Hamilton will probably come in for Erhahon with McGrandles dropping deeper into the '6'.

Wouldn't surprise me if Moylan and Makama came back in as well to freshen things up.

We have a stinking record against Evans sides and Rotherham full stop so hardly an ideal fixture to wrap up what's been a poor Xmas period for us.

Looking forward to getting soaked on the away terrace at the Memorial and using the new station close to the stadium which has been built to make getting away from it ALOT easier - too many times those Bristol buses can take ages getting back to Temple Meads - thats even if they appear in the first place...........

We will again make one or two changes due to the schedule I'd have thought, we've also got to concede again at some point.

Surely Rovers will not be as bad as they was a month ago, not with a new manager in charge in his first home game.

Forecast looks horrendous, I hope it’s off just so Evatt’s big fat head explodes again like back in the Covid season.

I hope it’s off because the hangovers are getting more difficult and I’ll be wishing a premature death on Wednesday I’m sure.

With regards those buses I agree especially if you wait for the 74 ( Temple Meads ) on it. Us regulars always take the 75 which stops off with a 10 min walk to Temple Meads but there are many more of them. As you say best way now is the new Ashley Down station which is a 20 min walk to the ground and only a 15 min walk back as downhill all the way. Make sure when coming out to the ground to take a direct train as its only 8 mins from TM. Otherwise you have to change at Filton which comes to a 20 mins + journey.

Hi Folletto. The reason we have a leaky defence is because we have nobody defending out wide. The game at the valley you launched evey ball down the throat of our back 3. If you're playing with wingers now the result could be very different.

We cannot keep league one standard going for a full game. If we can sneak a win I'll be very happy.

I'm coming tomorrow more in hope than expectation.

Looks like being a horrible day weatherwise and you are right to be thinking there won't be a lot of sublime passing moves from us.

We were rubbish in similar conditions at Mansfield and we are generally hopeless away from the NYS so I'm not very confident of going home in a good mood.

Only a decent January transfer window can save Evans from the wrath of the hordes but he has always been a lucky manager so who knows, maybe he will get an uplift in 2025.
I bloody hope so!!!

Wigan b Huddersfield called off flooded local streets apparently dam.
I'm not surprised. Drove from that way yesterday afternoon to get home, horrific weather (rain and wind) from 10am onwards, and didn't get out of the rain until Pontefract. We got all the rain overnight here.

Flooding in parts of Stockport that have never experienced it before in my lifetime; Edgeley Park is fine though.

Happy New year Everyone.

Barnsley away. Should be a great atmosphere.
Just seen the team ,Brunt out of the squad. Big loss he has been brilliant recently, MOTM the other day. Lack of pace at the back now.
Howard still in net is a surprise, Big Arthur still on the bench. If he's fit he should be in for me.

Barnsley generally aren't great at Home this season. We're poor away.

2-1 loss, they'll be right up for this after our late winner against them not long ago.

Mullin goal for us. Phillips and DKD for them
