To be serious for a second, this is why I'm glad we have genuine fans as custodians of our club.

Everyone says that until they get a sniff of money.

No one seems to know a lot. George Steinbrenner's son-in-law is heading the consortium so that could mean he either rocks up with some money and experience of running a big sports franchise (not massively sexy) or he's the front man for the Steinbrenners (George is now dead) so his 2 sons have the keys to their $3bn empire and he's going to be the guy looking after their investment.

The second is obviously a big story, the former less so. Both are interesting and make some sense though...well if you ignore the fact that no sane man with money should ever invest in Notts County or any other lower league club.

Quick update - Sky Sports had lost the plot, actually turns out it's a guy who used to be married to the daughter of the New York Yankees. He apparently runs a 'sports team acquisition company' but doesn't have any sports teams, has a website that appears to have been designed by a 12 year old IT student and 136 followers on Twitter.

I for one welcome our new overlords.
