B2TF is referring to a rumour that Chris Wilder was watching our game yesterday. I don't think he's clever enough yet to realise that not every football fan on earth is up-to-date with the most minor Halifax Town hearsay (though god willing they someday will be).

Yes, he was there. For 45 minutes from 3pm he was in the dugout by the pitch (then he disappeared for 15 minutes so he may have been watching your game then) but he returned around 4pm for another 45. Something strange is happening.

Wilder jumped ship, after touting himself around for over a year, before he got sacked. He was best mates with Kelvin Thomas, our previous Chairman, but once Thomas went and the club owner, Ian Lenagan, gave him strict objectives he knew his days were numbered, as he wouldn't achieve. Your mug of a Chairman was stupid enough to give him a job.

You're welcome to the arrogant northern fuckwit, Michael Appleton is a breath of fresh air after Wilder. You will achieve nothing under him and will realise that soon enough, if you haven't already.

Saturday was our first defeat in six months. How many have you lost during that time under king Wilder? He drove half of our fanbase away with his boring sterile brand of football, and chippy after match interviews, where nothing was ever his fault.

He's not the worst manager out there, but he is very limited and one dimensional. Also he has about a two year shelf life before he runs out of ideas and falls out with everybody. How are the multitude of loan signings going? And the injuries? Both Wilder trademarks.

As Dolph says, we were happy to get rid of Boothroyd but we're not still posting about it nearly 2 years later. On which thread do you slag off Waddock ? Or is it only Wilder that upset you because he left you and you can't get your head round the fact that anyone would want to leave Oxford to further their career. Colin Calderwood left us to go to Forest, these things happen, like I said before, get over it otherwise you will be all bitter and twisted. Ohhh maybe it's too late.

I think Eric`s being a bit precious over his present Oxford United team, they may well try and play the game the right way but the amount of misplaced passes i witnessed from them on Saturday only proved why their players are in this division.
Lose the rose tinted glasses Eric, this is english fourth tier football and every team has to mix it up a bit to survive in this league, including Oxford

You are not Nottm Forest, you're Northampton Town. Wilder left before he was sacked. It had nothing to do with furthering his career, it was all about staying in employment, any employment.

This is nothing to do with a manager leaving (don't see why I should have a problem with Waddock?) it's about the manner of his leaving and the way he conducted himself when he was at Oxford. As I say, you're welcome to him.

First league defeat in 6 months, of those 6 months only September had a full league program, a bit like saying you didn't lose a League game between 1939 and 1945, oh of course you were non league then.

I obviously know a lot more about why Wilder left than you do. He would not have taken us up, that's the whole point of the discussion. He'd had four goes at it and every time we'd tailed off in the second half of the season. It was like Groundhog Day and was waiting to happen again, and he knew it. That's why he jumped. He went to Northampton Town, a small club who were struggling at the wrong end of Division Four. Is that really a career move? My problem is with the man himself. He's an arsehole, a bully, and not a very good football manager. But it seems as though he's found some kindred spirits at Northampton.
