Second worst home record vs second best away record.
Second worst home defence vs second best away attack.

What could possibly go wrong...?!

Most of our starting XI picks itself but Cowley will have to make tough calls on who plays in CM and on the left hand side with Andrade back.

Bolger went off against Bury injured and Bostwick carried on despite being injured (had no choice because he had to move to CB).

Will guess at:

Smith

Eardley
Bolger
Shackell
Toffolo

Bostwick
Frecklington

Anderson
Rowe
Pett

Akinde

If Bolger doesn't make it, Boswick to CB, Pett to CM and probably Andrade back in.

Starting 12 players!? That's why we've been doing so well this season

Our team could be bloody anything, particularly with a couple more signings (possibly Michael Doyle) expected tomorrow. Maybe something like:-

Schofield
Tootle Duffy Barclay Evina
Rose O’Brien Doyle?
Mackail-Smith Stead Boldewijn

Would be a solid six changes from our last game... but actually looks sort of okay. Would rather Dennis started than Stead but can’t see it.

This obviously has away win written all over it but if I'm desperately looking for a positive, it's that our best performances in recent weeks have come against decent teams. We were unlucky not to beat Bury and would have beaten Colchester if for some reason we hadn't tried to sit on our lead (which, given our excellent defensive record, was maybe not the wisest thing to do).

Having said that I'm fully expecting a proper walloping.

Maybe get a point but I wouldn't bet on it. We're putting together a veterans team and we've been short of legs all season as it is.

Oooh it’s the carrot munchers big day out. The game where they get pissed up and start fighting each on the train back. Pace yourselves lads.

The table heavily hints at one result, but not for the first time this season I’m strangely optimistic. Couple of weeks break, new players and another big crowd hopefully means we’ll up our game. Certainly hope so, cos the Lincoln players will be in the same gym as me on Monday morning and I want to wear my Notts shirt.

That's a Boston nickname, not Lincoln!

How many of these strangely optimistic feelings you’ve had this season have led to a win?

Allow plenty of time, don't think they let tractors on the A46
I don't believe there are any more tractors in Lincoln than Nottingham, probably less given the relative size of the places. Notts fans found their way along the A46 just fine.

I’m bored of league football. I was thinking of starting to watch a local non league side local to me next season. Looks like there will be little need, I’ll just carry on supporting my beloved Stylish Magpies.

aaaaand we’re back?! Akinde had a shocker with that pen. The cocky slow run up looks a bit silly when that happens...

Not a great performance from us by all accounts. Doesn't help conceding a penalty in the first minute and give the opposition something to hold on to.

Akinde got a bit of stick for missing his penalty, as though taking it the 'normal' way has a 100% success rate but he's only missed 4 in 60.

I was surprised it actually made it out of play.

A much improved performance for us. Still a huge ask for us to turn this around and it might still go horribly wrong but it's given everyone a glimmer of hope at least.

I didn't think either were pens. We did have the decency to miss ours!
The languid style of the big lad will always make a miss look worse. It certainly did in this case.
Thought County looked ok, but we were poor for large parts of the game. I guess the new signings and renewed vigour gave County a lift and maybe helped knock us off kilter.
Decent game, dreadful referee as confirmed by pretty much everyone in attendance, including both managers. God only knows how the man himself, and the assessor, judged his performance.

Wait he’s had 60 pens? I knew he got a few but fucking hell. Must be close to some sort of record!

May have exaggerated there, I'm not sure.

DC said post match after his miss that it was his 4th in about 60 but 60 does seem high, even if he did have a prolific spell of pens at Barnet. 6 out of 7 (I think) here this season.

Or just be bitter when he can’t beat sides and makes fake things up.

True.

He tried to protect Angol as much as he could in his press conference and suggest only one club had a bid accepted so Angol had no choice. The reality, as we both know, was that there were two offers but one offered double the wages of the other. Nothing to do with the transfer fee.
