Last season Grimsby saved themselves from the drop with a win against Notts. The shoe is most definitely on the other foot this season.

Even IF Notts escape with 3 points we are relying on both Macc and Yeovil losing.
If Macc get anything Saturday we are all but down as our GD is far worse as Macc Will beat Cambridge the week after.

We now have players nursing injuries including Hemmings who was very much missed at Crawley.

I think all but a handful of Notts fans have accepted that it's our time for the #stain and baring a miracle we will be exiting the EFL and the new owners first job will be to remove the banners from the top of stands. What sorry state we are.

I do think though, should we all go into the final game with a chance we should have one relegation D-day thread for all 3 games.

If you can hang on in there for another week there are 3 points for the taking at the CG. Hope it helps your cause.

I actually quite fancy us to win this. The problem is matters are out of our hands, and all eyes will be on Vale Park where we will be requiring a huge favour from the Valiants.

At least there can be no doubts about it - it’s win or nothing. We simply have to try to go into the last day ahead of Macc and Yeovil. Please try to avoid any stupid red cards this week tho eh lads?

Would expect a healthy 4-figure following from Grimsby?

Read on the fishy that Jolley has managed us for 53 games and 50 of those have had a sequence of either 3 or more unbeaten or 3 without a win! Only the opening day defeat to FGR and defeat to Cheltenham in December has broken the 3 game sequence.

So unless Carlisle was another anomaly then expect at least a draw from the Mariners!

We have sold our initial allocation of 1026 and have just received an extra 551.

Also, rather surprisingly, East Midlands Trains have added an extra train on Saturday from Cleethorpes, calling at Habrough, Barnetby and Market Rasen and then direct to Nottingham and also a direct train back after the game.

As has been mentioned it was our victory over County that secured our safety last season but this season there is a chance that we could send Notts down. Whatever the result I hope we don't see any scenes like there were at Burton when we were relegated.

A group of steaming fans attacked the team bus after our recent defeat at Crewe, and brawled with stewards and police during the game. And there was trouble at Cheltenham too. But I reckon it’s more likely there’ll be stunned silence if the worst happens on Saturday, a few vitriolic insults thrown at the players/management if they try to clap the supporters, and possibly a bit of a mob gathering behind the main stand to give Hardy some grief.

Seeing that we're not involved, I wouldn't mind it going down to the last day of the season with the 3 teams all still in danger to be honest. I'd still like to see us win mind but hopefully defeats for both Macc and Yeovil will take it down to the last day of the season.

A poor performance and relegation could well end up in some aggro at the end. The atmosphere at the end of Exeter game was as toxic as I can ever remember.

I honestly expect there to be a bit of bother.
Mostly towards our lot and hopefully if we do go down Saturday there will be minimal "rubbing it in from Grimsby" as I have known quite a few times there are some nasty Notts fans when they want to be.

Unlikely that you'll be down this weekend as I'm sure that we will beat Macc, and Yeovil can't beat anyone.

I think we'll beat macc. We're in reasonable form and we want to end the season on a positive note. I'd be disappointed if we didn't.

Play with the desire we did Monday and our form overall suggests we should beat Macclesfield and do Notts a favour. We’ve had poor home form this season but not lost to any down the bottom end apart from Grimsby (who were flying) and Morecambe (who we absolutely battered).

I didn't read the posts immediately following the Exeter game, but other fans on the relegation thread said there was a quite a bit of negativity from you lot. I thought it was one of those games where you were the better side throughout, but got outdone by a last minute sucker punch from Exeter's only shot on target, if the stats are anything to go by?

It was, and any other season it would’ve been greeted as that. Being bottom having been the pre-season title favourites, though, it just happened to be when people completely snapped.

Well, at least you’d get 3000+ tickets for the game at our place to watch our half arsed, out-the-door players gift you the 3 points to stay up.

I hope you don’t end up getting relegated at our place - if you kick off there’s plenty of our knobheadsonly too willing to join in.

That’s what’s marvellous about football. We’ve had pretty much the shittest season in our 157 year history, but if we manage to stay up in front of 3,000 away fans at Swindon, it’ll be as good as any promotion.

Mid table is for losers.

If Notts do get relegated on Saturday I just hope their fans take it in good grace and are well behaved just like our lot were when we were relegated out of the league at Burton in 2010.......:eek:

It’ll be worse if we drag it out to the final day and go down in front of a big, dangerously drunk away following at Swindon I would guess.

Yes. The only saving grace is the trains are pretty horrendous.

I shall be taking the train from Long Eaton with five other TOWN fans, all over 60 bar two. I expect a heavy police presence and a safe walk to and from the ground. As for the match, who knows, most likely a draw.

Well the special laid on by East Midlands Trains arrives into Nottingham at 11:25. Not sure what plod will do from there, whether they'll take them all to one pub and keep them there or not. As it's not a dry train either I can see plenty of our fans on that train not even making it to the game! :ffs:

Sounds like another decent 1000+ following. That’s something we’ll really miss next season if the worst happens. I reckon we’ve probably had 15,000+ away fans through the gates this season. Chesterfield might bring a few, but i doubt the rest will muster 1,000 between them!

We've recalled Max Wright from Boston now that they can't make the playoffs. Wouldn't mind seeing him go straight into the starting XI.

Come on Notts, you've had your punishment, sort it out. Don't drop through the slippery sphincter into oblivion, it's a tight hole and it's difficult to get back up through it. There are shells of football clubs down there, ghostly ships passing in the night with barely anyone on board. It's a scary place

Yeah he has hinted at that. Certainly up top, as Dennis (who I don't think could play anyway) and Cardwell are injured and Cookis 50/50. Akheem Rose will probably start at the very least. I'm hoping he'll start either Buckley, Burrell or Wright. The problem with Wright is that he is a winger and we dont play with wingers. I'd like to see Hall-Johnson at RWB and Pollock given a start and Buckley in the Embleton AMC role. Realistically though, I reckon it will just be Rose starting and the other kids on the bench.
