Thought I'd create one of these - I'm sure there's others looking/wanting a new manager at the helm and possibly actively looking.

Positive news down at BP today, aside from the shambolic refereeing performance which ultimately cost us the win - Rosler was sat with a few of our board members at the game today taking notes, as I can't see Sheff Utd needing a manager (just yet), it's looking possible he could be the one.

Shaky period at Wigan, granted, although they've been a shambles this season anyway and shouldn't have gotten rid in the first place, but shone at Brentford, so I'd be absolutely delighted with this.

Dowie would be the preferred choice, but Rosler fits the bill nicely IMO.

imo don't think Roslers reputation has been damaged from his time at Wigan, done brilliantly when he was first appointed. Had a poor start to this season but should have been given more time to turn it around, Mackay went in at Wigan and done a significantly worse job than Rosler.

Dowie over Rosler... you want your fucking head checking.

No disrespect to Oldham, but I reckon he could definitely do better. I'm sure there would be at least a handful of Championship clubs who'd give him a shot at the moment.

I'll hold fire until we know what happens in the playoffs. go out of them then we should join this thread, and someone else can have Robinson.

I suspect we'll be joining this thread before the start of next season. We go up, surely Cookie will be poached by someone else for performing a miracle ... We don't and he'll look for a way out as he'll have achieved pretty much all he can on the budget available to him.

Can we have Keith Hill next please?

No. You can't.

I believe Paul Jewell is available, though!

If we fail to go up the Clough has to go for me. Would like to see us look at Rosler, Adkins (ambitious, I know) or Paul Cook.

As it is theres still a chance we could go up but my word we've been far worser this season than we should've been.

Incredibly despite him having all the fans on his back our man is staying.

Clueless board.
Clueless manager.

We're going down next season

Sounds familiar.

To be fair, we do have the people to promote from within, it's just that we won't have the fun of the speculation. We know it's odds on to be James Collins promoted from the U-21s to manager, which to be honest does excite me more than any of the duds we'd get from the outside. I just hope the club are a bit bolder and do a more "sweeping" change and allow him his own assistant manager rather than Neil "part of the furniture" Baker (as much as I adore Baker).

Biggest move we need to make before the manager/assistant for me is getting rid of Andy Franks, the guy is fucking useless. He has one job and that is to get the players fit. He failed under Dario a number of times and he has now let things slide under Davis. We need an Army PTI style disciplinarian fitness coach, not a clown like Franks who is way too chummy with the players and clearly doesn't have their respect.

I believe we'd be a lot better off, even still under Davis, if we had a squad that could play Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday(see Chesterfields players), could last the 90 minutes in a game regardless of how bad the pitch is(see Orients players) and could play a consistent pressing game in games on a regular basis.

Rosler would be a cracking appointment. Would've kept Wigan up this season in my opinion

It's only a hunch but I think Richie Barker is currently circulating his CV.

Came to us as a surprise appointment as an Assistant Manager just over a year ago, and it does seem that it was just to keep working until the right opportunity came along. Now it appears that Keith Andrews' loan (while initially a playing one) is solely for him to work alongside Robbo & Richie, and it's becoming increasingly apparent that he'll be the assistant to Robbo next season, and possible long term successor.

Watch this space...

Robbo's around as long as it takes to go up.

We fail this season and it'll simply be a case of dusting ourselves down and going again next season.

I really don't understand how anyone thinks either scenario (him walking or being sacked) is likely?

I wouldn't he seems to have a terrible record in the main role (Crawley, Portsmouth), much better as a assistant.

That said I like the prospect of Keith Andrews as our assistant manager next season so perhaps wouldn't mind Barker moving on. While I'm not sure what he'd be like on the tactics/transfers/squad building side of the role he's worked wonders sorting Samir Carruthers out and is already a proven leader from his past spell here.

Steve Evans is the name in the frame for us.

I'd rather dip my bollocks in acid than ever go to a game where I'm supporting a team managed by him.

Rosler would be a fantastic appointment in this league - fair play if you get him.
