Another home game and this one is the final tick in terms of us having played the entire top half coming into the weekend.

Scunny may not be in good form but they're still a decent outfit on paper and still sit on the cusp of the playoffs. Our players looked a little leggy on Tuesday, and I think that is down to the high intensity approach we take into our games under Wellens. I'm hopeful they can muster up one more performance before resting for the week and Wellens can chop and change for the tinpot trophy next week.

W5 D2 L0 under Wellens, long may it continue...

Placide

Dummigan - Clarke - Bryan - Hunt

Fane

Gardner - Omrani

Byrne

Davies - Doyle
I wouldn't be at all downhearted with a draw to be perfectly honest, but as confidence is high at the moment I have to go with a win.

Latics 2-1 Scunthorpe

Doyle & Davies

571 Iron.

We've looked incredibly poor lately and I can't see that stopping. Davies is 100% scoring with how shit he was for us last season.

Oldham 2-1 Scunthorpe is my prediction.

Davies and Doyle for Oldham, Morris for us.

We don't score a lot of goals. I think Oldham and ourselves will finish in similar positions. Well clear from relegation but stuck in mid table

2-0 Home Win

Oldham have improved and are doing well. Confidence will be up. We are playing at a ground where we tend to play very poorly. Not sure why, maybe the rarefied atmosphere and the cold, but I expect a routine home win. We are really poor and I think this one will be easy for Oldham.

Bury said the same and although we won we scraped it. Infancy if you watch the highlights of our second goal you will see just how close we came to losing 2-1.

We have been good recently. Very good but were poor against bury. We looked leggy and this May well be a game too far

Latics have done tremendous under Wellens and he deserves all the credit coming his way. Think this game might be a bridge too far against a stubborn Scunny side and a stalemate ensues 0-0

Haitian Jonny is missing. Lol. Fine Young Casuals battered my mate so I'm hoping for a good game. It's freezing round here but I've remembered my poncho. Hopefully can sneak a couple of tinnies in. Bag will hopefully not get searched. Been on the sesh since 6 this morning. A crate and a bottle of vodka on the train to Piccadilly. We taxied to Oldham and just smashed it from 11 AM. Cheetham Hill after the game. Got a hot bird round there who likes me and my boys

UTI. Finally gonna watch you with a tinny.

No Surrender

Credit to Alexander for pressing us for the first 20. We look knackered. Looked a very good side did Scunny but we have come
Into it a little.

Your stewards are getting done for assault. I'm off to the police station now. Been assaulted by a jobsworth steward. Threw me out the ground by using unjustified force. What a prick. I'll come back and finish him

What a hard fought win that was. Started off like a house on fire and looked very good. We then progressively got worse and Oldham got better. Not sure how Fane stayed on the pitch after what he did to Ojo. Thought the game was only going one way once Oldham equalised but we somehow managed to pick up the win. Delighted with that.

First 20 minutes we were quality and looked similar to the first half of last season when we were just blowing sides away. Really should have capitalized on it, but Oldham started to play. We seemed to back-off a little, Alexander-style, to protect the lead. Oldham did push us back though and they did well for the remainder of the half, scoring late on. Second half was hard work against the wind and it was mostly Oldham. Craig Davies (of course) equalised. We got the winning goal soon afterwards though, with another tap-in, as with our first.

Fane's challenge looked strong, but did not see whether it was illegal or not. Anyway, there should have been a second yellow for Fane in the second half, when he pulled Church down from behind. The ref was shocking IMO. His decision not to award us a penalty was criminal. I have heard his reason was "not enough contact". Not sure how that works. Either there was contact or not. The goalie had to receive the magic sponge on his ribs after the illegal challenge on our striker. Play delayed too. Farcical from Mr Scott Oldham.

Adelakun proved his worth with a tremendous first half and an assist for Morris to score our second. Morris showed his importance again with a lovely cross for the winning goal. We are starting to have short spurts of excellent football and we need to find ways of keeping it up for most of the game. The result surprised me. I expected us to lose this one and while we could have done so, I actually thought we deserved the win.
