What team, if any, could become a surprise promotion candidate? I must admit that I was all doom and gloom over the performance of my team, but now Martin Long has come in, and tweaked the team we seem to be on a roll, and so from prime relegation candidates, we seem to be on a promotion push, being only 6 points of off a play off place. Also you can still get good odds from the bookies on us getting promotion, last time I looked you could get 125 to 1, yep I put a tenner on !

You're still shorter than us for relegation.

That's just crazy IMO.

(Last time I checked, last week)

There is no out of the blue team this year - unless you count millwall who are not out of the blue in my opinion.
Top two will be from Walsall us gills Coventry and Peterborough

Coventry and Gills first and second IMO, based on the teams I've seen thus far. Streets ahead of the others up there.

Based on what you have seen - I would not use the term streets, as it's much of a muchness in my opinion from 1 to 10. Walsall and Cov are the two best teams we have played

I think in each of those teams its 2 or 3 outstanding players that make the difference so a lot depends on whether those players were available in those matches. Dack, Armstrong, Washington and Sawyers all made the difference in the games we've played against them.

January to decide it in my opinion. Walsall and Coventry both have important players they could lose thanks to loans ending or sales. Burton it will depend how well Clough adapts, Gills I cant see much changing for though.

Dont see Posh as top 2. And fk knows with us, so long as Bradford wasn't a flash in the pan I wouldn't rule us out just yet although it is a tough ask. Wigan as well I think are coming good.

Table this stage last year:

Bristol City 1st -> end 1st
Swindon 2nd -> end 4th
Preston 3rd -> end 3rd
MK Dons 4th -> end 2nd
Bradford 5th -> end 7th
Sheffield United 6th -> end 5th

Relegation:
Yeovil 24th -> end 24th
Leyton Orient 22nd -> end 23rd
Crawley 20th -> end 22nd
Crewe 21st -> end 20th

So the most movement last year from the end of 2014 to the end of the season was 2 places.

Id say last season was different. Bristol City were easily the best team, then Preston, Swindon and MKDons were equal-ish and the rest were way behind. This season I dont think there's such a clear gap all throughout the division.

There also wasn't the same potential for players leaving or new managers as there is this time around. Like I said, January will decide it imo.

If you go from 10th Jan to the end of the season, we moved 10 places up the league (22nd - 12th). We have only lost 9 out of 45 league games since that date

Not sure about us, we have money to spend so it depends on who and where Fergie spends it on, it's a tall order for any team outside the top 8 though.

Don't agree with that. Half the teams down the 10th have games in hand on the play-off sides. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Bradford make a run at it, for example. Unless you mean to win the league, in which case your probably right.

Seems thats the thing to do then. Change your home colours, win the league!

On the two times we've changed our traditional home kit to All White we've been relegated.

We also then changed our kit to Black and White stripes and had our lowest finish in decades!

If we change from White Shirts/Black Shorts then it's time for us to worry!

(Although we won promotion last time with black pinstripes)

If we keep our home form and turn our dire away form into average away form we will have a chance of gate crashing the play offs but we have yet to actually look like turning our away form around!

I strongly suspect the title will be coming home to Doncaster this year after a few seasons in the Midlands and darn sarf.
