As an alternative :
With the 'eventful' season we have had so far I would put us well in the frame for this 'accolade'...so far..

Definitely Accy, if they manage to make the most of their games in hand they'll be well up there.

Their manager doesn't seem to think it's much of a surprise though..

This is one of our biggest strengths - being continuously underestimated. Long may it continue!

Accy signed some good players tbf, didn't quite expect them to challenge the top 3 but I certainly expected top 10.

I'd also put us in for over performers. I hoped for midtable and was expecting about 16th. Can't see us going up, I just hope its not the 1 season syndrome and we become like Luton next season

Some managers only fit one club and Coleman seems to fit Accy and no other.

Rovers and Accy for sure.

I'd also say Plymouth are performing better than their squad looks on paper.

Must admit I didnt expect to see Northampton up there...... but im sure if there's one thing we win this season its surely the over-achievers award.

A little surprised Northampton have been so dominant but they always had the players and manager in place just didn't think it would click for them.

Bristol Rovers to an extent and Accrington are having very good seasons both who I expected to finish mid table at best.

Northampton have a strong side full of proven League Two players but they've still overachieved to win the title with 45 games to spare. Not really a slight on them but you wouldn't expect any side to have that sort of lead unless they're paying silly money to do it.

Accrington if they go up, absolutely. Be less surprised at Bristol Rovers - they've had a great season but they're one of the bigger sides and they've got lots going right. More a case of them underachieving two years ago.

Accy.

Case closed really. Bristol Rover's surprised, especially after a hit and miss start. Rest were to be expected.

Wimbledon also out performed most expectations

We still had to clear out the deadwood following relegation and start again signing players on a lot less money.
We maybe aren't overachieving in terms of the size of the club, but we definitely are in terms of how most fans thought we would do, as most would have been happy mid-table.

I don't think anyone expected Northampton to piss the league to be fair. Most would have had them down as possible playoff candidates at best.

So them and Accrington.

I understand Accrington are small and have come from lower mid table to be exceptional on a lower budget and I hope they go up. However, just this once. Northampton are it. Not even close. Shite almost relegated to mid table last season, almost bust this to be walking the League. Hats off.

Depends on whose expectations. The one set at the start of the season and the squad was built for was playoffs. We are about par score for season currently.

Accy for me as well. I thought Bristol Rovers would be mid table at best but they have surprised me this season, after coming up from The Conference and kept faith with their manager after a slow start they have had a great 2nd half of the season so fair play to them.

Not sure how a side with the quality of Holmes, Richards and JJOT can be considered overachievers. Fair enough to run away with it like they have is tremendous but for me the overachievers are Accrington. They're also the best side, Bar Exeter to visit Field Mill this season.

Because Holmes and O'toole are used to running away with this league?

Everyone thought Northampton would be a contender, but there's not been a contest. Fourteen points clear even though they have stopped trying. The only club i wouldn't nominate as overachievers with that sort of lead is Pompey.
