I have always had a soft spot for the Robins, ever since the days of Don Rogers and Arthur Horsfield. Beggars can't be chosers - so they have my sympathy for falling into the clutches of that chancer, Power, and such a recent sequence of tossers for managers. That said, you can't fault Tango Man's record and he looks almost as good a match to Power as (currently bailing out) McAnthony did to the Fat Fraud and his shouty side-kick.
A month or so ago, this looked a nailed on away win. With the changing managers and recent performances of both clubs, a very welcome home win looks possible. I'm expecting a draw but relatively relaxed about the result - just looking forward to a no-pressure, high tempo, performance and an enjoyable afternoon at the Abbey.
The promised sprinkling of snow overnight should have no impact on the pitch but may make travelling more challenging for our visitors - safe journey! There'll be no Corr or Mingoia but Maris should be available and I can see an unchanged starting eleven and bench from saturday's draw at Wycombe. I'd like to see Jevani back and be happy to have Waters on the bench (but I suspect it will be Brown again).
Forde
Halliday, Taylor, Taft, Dunk
Deegan
O'Neil, Brown, Maris
Ibehre, Ikpeazu
Subs: Mitov, Carroll, Legge, Lewis, Elito, Amoo, Waters
The bench is looking stronger and stronger and I forsee goals. I suggest 2 - 2 in front of a decent turnout, perhaps 4, 600 ish. Will the Robins manage to bring 500 to see a hoped for new manager bounce back to their earlier away form?
