Following the breaking news that Arsene Wenger is set to leave Arsenal, it means Paul Tisdale will now be the longest serving manager in English football.

But isn't Tisdale leaving at the end of the season too?

I believe his contract runs out in November. But now Arsenal have confirmed Wenger is leaving, Tisdale's ego is far too big to not stay on for another season just to get this title. It's the exact sort of bloke he is. It pretty much confirms he'll stay.

Little fact, of all the teams Wenger has faced more than once he has only failed to beat one English side in at least one or those games... the side he failed to beat... the mighty Vale!

Rotherham Utd as well, although they only played Arsene Wenger's Arsenal side once compared to twice for Port Vale.

Why does he have a contract until November? Seems odd for a football manager.

He was served notice in November 2016 following a vote of members of the Trust which owns the club. His contract was a two year rolling one so he was always going to get that much notice.

I hope he stays but am sure he will be off in the summer. If we get promoted that's 3 in 12 years, which is what we managed in the previous 50. He has massively divided the fan base of late mind, but in my view all that should be forgiven if we go up, but plenty will still want him to leave. Hope we never go back to having a new guy almost every year

So if it isn’t Arse or Tids who will be the longest then.
