Top of the table Sheffield United look to extend their lead at the top with an away win at Posh who themselves have an eye on the playoffs.

Match chat in here.

I actually think we're back "on the groove now". We've strengthened the squad and have options all over the pitch, I'm hoping the recent wake up call(s) have kicked any complacency out of the team,
Oh and you're not Walsall, so 2-0 for the Blades

Have to agree.
The great thing for Blades is that we've strengthened in the JTW and the bench is so strong, full of players good enough and expecting to be in our first team.

Peterboro are known for being inconsistent, the Doctor Jekyll or Mr Hyde team of league 1, so which team will turn up? No one knows but I expect them to play attacking football. We struggle more against the negative, cagey teams that defend in numbers then try to hit us on a quick counter attack (Fleetwood were brilliant at it the other week when they deservedly beat us).

Peterboro's style suits us down to the ground.
Expect a lot of goals

Posh 1 or maybe even 2
Blades 3 or maybe even 4

If the good Posh turn up, we could win quite easily.

If the horrendous Posh turn up, we will get hammered.

Who knows, really?

It's a game where the likes of Maddison normally pop up with something special, so here's hoping again.

With no Bostwick, I'm a lot more confident in our defence keeping out more too.

One of the best teams I've seen this season along with Bradford but I'm hoping with your attacking style and the fact you will go all out for the win it could suit us as well I also expect a high scoring game. We've only kept one clean sheet away all season so I'm gonna go for a bizarre 5-3 away win.

We're very hit and miss. Sometimes we really are unplayable and sometimes we really are unwatchable. I think we'll be defeated heavily on the day. McCann will play some bizarre tactic to try and counter Sheff Utd and will backfire massively as usual. Problem is we just never regularly look like scoring and a fat dwarf from St Albans isn't the answer. :ffs:

You are definitely one of the best teams to come to BL this season.

Almost every team gives us full respect at Bramall Lane and sits back defending deep but Posh seemed to throw tactics out of the window and they went for it that day.

Although we won 1-0 it was a really entertaining game with chances at both ends. Many Blades that day were impressed that Posh were so postive and attack minded.

We're hoping you'll still be the same because we've improved since that match. If given space we will create loads of chances.

I expect a high scoring game and wouldn't be surprised if Posh win but I also wouldn't be surprised if we win 5-3.

Big crowds and Sky cameras are when we seem to be at our best. Hence the performances against Sheff Utd away, Northampton at home and Bolton & Bury at home (on Sky). Hopefully now the January transfer window has shut some of our players can remember they play for us and didn't get that move they thought they "deserved." All this talk of attacking and high scoring I might change my prediction and plump for a 0-0.

Come on the unplayable good Posh, not the unwatchable horrendous one :2thumb:

They played very well at the lane and lost, they didn't deserve too but I hope they play as well again it should make for a cracking game.

I think we'll go for it. McCann doesn't like defensive at home, which has cost us at times because he's played 6 attackers and it just gave us no shape, but he's learning.

Have a bad feeling this will be called when we're already there exactly like last time. I just don't think we're destined to play Peterborough away on a Saturday.

It's cold and it's wet. It also snowed a little bit but I can't see the game being called off.

You know what these safety pricks are like they call it off if there's an inch of snow because apparently people are incapable of walking round the ground after its snowed it's just another example of this pathetic country at times.

As if Oldham away this year being postponed for a postage stamp of ice was bad enough, we were in Rochdale and had to settle for three pints in the Cemetery Inn. :(

Well I'm getting the 7.37 train so I'll be there for sure anyway so it will be a long day on the piss in Peterborough if it is called off.

Really looking forward to the match and I'll be listening to the live commentary on Radio Sheffield. The co radio commentator for SU matches is ex player Keith Edwards and he's quite famous for making predictions and getting it wrong. Fortunately he has a sense of humour and can laugh at himself.

Some famous quotes I remember.

When we played high flying Burton away last season his post match comment was "I've seen Burton a few times this season. They are a very ordinary side but are organised and hardworking. They are in a false position and I'm confident they'll slip down the league and finish mid table team"

His classics that really annoy the listeners are
"We are getting well on top. I can only see us winning because the oppostion are really poor". When ever he says this the oppostion tend to score not long after.

I'm certain his pre match comment for today will be

"Peterboro are a Jekyl and Hyde side that play open attacking football. That will play into our hands because we'll get plenty of chances to score today. You know I've don't like making predictions because I tend to get them wrong.....but I'm going to make a very confident prediction today...there's no way the match will end 0-0...there WILL be plenty of goals.....watch it now end 0-0 and all the listeners will be writing in complaining about me jinxing the match".

Another good performance and deserved 1-0 win.

The radio summeriser said he thought the 1st half was entertaining for a 0-0 but was disappointed with Peterboro in the 2nd half due to a lack of ambition. There was only one team trying to win the game with the other team (Peterboro) settling for a draw. He said we were comfortable for most of the match and we we stayed patient plugging away. Obviously scoring a late goal was a little lucky and I'd have settled for a draw against a good Peterboro side.

Great result for us especially with Scunthorpe having a surprise home defeat. Our next 2 home games are Scunnie followed by Bolton, win those 2 and we've taken a giant step towards promotion.

Think Sheff United have the title in the bag now, they're gonna tear us apart next week.

Sheffield United fans on the pitch. Utterly disgraceful. Obviously trying to gain an unfair advantage and to try and intimidate the Peterborough players.

Thoughts Sheffsteel and S74Blade?

The first half was entertaining for a 0-0. The second half came down to McCann's bizarre substitutions.. Taking off our best player and putting a centre mid on the wing? Ridiculous. Sheffield United weren't the greatest side in the world and I thought they looked really small.

Sheffeld United fans travelled in great numbers but until they scored were utterly silent. Nothing compared to Wednesday fans.:fish:
