Another tough game against a side you would always expect to see in or around the top 6 with McCarthy in charge. They've got good forward options but so did Boro and they failed to break us down at Deepdale so as long as our organisation doesn't slip we can get something against them.

I'm hoping Beckford is back as he gives us another outlet as Garner is generally flicking it on to nobody at the moment, as Keane also likes to drop deep. Still very much in the dark about his fitness though.

Think we came through Rotherham unscathed so I'd expect the same team really, unless Grayson prefers Vermijl to Humphrey.

Pickford
Clarke, Huntington, Wright
Humphrey, Welsh, Johnson, Cunningham
Gallagher, Keane
Garner

Kirkland, Woods, Vermijl, Kilkenny, Browne, Brownhill, Beckford

Just seen that we've only lost 1 league game at Deepdale since the 21st December 2013 (38 games), losing 4 in all competitions (47 games).

Hopefully we can transfer that to this league.

Oh, so it's not me being there that's keeping the unbeaten run. It's just what you do.

Think we'll lose this one. Ipswich are the first team we've played this season with good attacking options.

To be fair, Kike has scored 3 in 2 for Boro since playing us.

Sounds like Deepdale is a tough place to get a result, but we've started the season well and I'm hopeful we can continue that on Saturday. I'd definitely take a draw though. If Fraser and Murphy are fit then I expect we'll start with the same team as the last two games, otherwise I don't know - maybe a 4-5-1/4-3-3.

Draw would be acceptable given PNE's fine home form (wasn't aware of this), more than capable of winning this by several goals, though. In a weird way I'm actually pleased that Murphy is likely to feature from the bench only on Saturday, McGoldrick getting the nod ahead, big chance for him.

Another win would really show our intent. Not typically a happy hunting ground for us but that doesn't change the fact that this is promotion contenders against Championship new boys. If only that guaranteed a result, eh! Nevertheless, winning breeds confidence... 1-3. COYB's.

Edit: Fraser is confirmed fit Veggie Legs , Murph major doubt.

That's true, I still think Mc goldrick, Murphy and Seers are better though.

Preston have started pretty well haven't they? I fancy Ipswich to have a good season though and will just about have enough.

PNE 1-2 Ipswich

We'll find out, I was impressed by Boro so it will be interesting to see how Ipswich compare.

McGoldrick signs a contract extension until 2018 , nice boost ahead of the weekend.

Won't underestimate Preston based on what I've read from posts on here but irrespective of the result saturday it's a fantastic time to be a Town fan.

Always rated McGoldrick as a top top striker. Whether it's fucking my bets up, or playing against North End in the past, he's always been a thorn in my side.

No doubt he'll oblige on Saturday, too. Unfortunately.

They impressed me as well, they seemed to lack cutting edge though.

I knew we were good at home but didn't know we were that good! I remember the Bradford defeat who best us before that then?! Brentford?!

Anyways on to tomorrow. Massive test for us this one.

Can't see us winning unfortunately. Was very confident ahead of the Boro game of coming away with at least a point.

0-0 or 0-2 Ipswich. Unless Beckford plays and we will 3-0 ☺

Aye Brentford, I was in Amsterdam for that one and remember going on a 5 minute rant in a bar about Grayson being a shitbag. So that result kind of sticks in my mind.

Here's a great stat - Paul Gallagher has more assists in 2015 than anyone in the top four divisons with 14 :brill:

Looks like 4-3-3... disappointed to see Niles on the bench but Gerken is my only real concern (Bart out due to a personal family matter);

TEAM NEWS: Gerken, Chambers, Smith, Berra, Knudsen, Skuse, Douglas, Fraser, Sears, McGoldrick, Pitman ‪#‎itfc‬

SUBS: Crowe, Kenlock, Emmanuel, Coke, Tabb, Toure, Maitland-Niles.

Time to shine McGoldrick... he'll be so fired up for this.

Second to every ball at the moment, need a foothold in the game. Preston well on top by the sounds of it.

There goes the clean sheet, 1-1.

Was more comfortable listening after our goal, seemed to take the sting out of PNE but back to square one. Sounds like a poor goal to concede, committing far too many men forward for a Knudsen long throw and then being caught on the break.

Garner is winning everything in the air against Berra & Smith.

Game on... we need to up our game here.

Fantastic counter attack. 2 passes and Johnson was in, very composed finish too. Deserved.

Half time.

To put a positive spin on that, we really haven't done anything at all and we're level.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Mick switch it up for the second half, maybe revert to 4-4-2, brings Niles on the right.

We haven't got out of first gear and hopeful we'll look a different team second half. We'll need to though, as otherwise I can see Preston nicking this despite them losing their cutting edge after we scored.

Haven't played well by the sounds of it, sounds like Smith caught out again! I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until I see the goal though.

But to not have played well and still score against a team who held Boro, I'm happy with that.

I'd bring niles on but who would you drop? Pitman has scored, Sears is on fire atm and McGoldrick is going to create something out of nothing. Take Douglas off? And McGoldrick alongside Skuse?

Keep Douglas and Skuse, they balance the midfield well... Pitman for me, tough on him given the goal but I don't think 4-3-3 is working.

Will be interesting to see what (if anything) Mick does.

McGoldrick has been anonymous. If I was McCarthy I'd give it 10-15 minutes and get him off.

As for us, would love to see Beckford given half an hour to see if he can win it for us.

Nothing to fear in this league after seeing Boro and Ipswich, two sides expected to be top 6. Disappointing to concede that goal though, too much space to whip it in and a free header. Great header though.
