A mother of a trek for us this weekend up to sunny Hartlepool and a game that we will be favourites to win, but having said that, Hartlepool have been good at home lately and most recently won 4-0, so we can't take them lightly.

We need to win to keep the pressure on the top three and think we should just nick it 1-0 with a late McAlinden goal.

Safe trip to all the travelling Grecians

Big win on Tuesday and the front three all on the score sheet which will of lifted a lot of spirits around the place, results at home have been good all things considered, looking at Exeter's away record this season I'd be pretty happy with a point but I think we can win this.

Swap out Rooney for Amond and we're laughing, Thomas to pick up were he left off on Tuesday :cool1:

Indeed safe trip to all travelling, done it a few times by car and it's a killer.

Exeter are one of a handful of teams we have a good record against. Like Chief Rocka said, the 4-0 win has lifted the gloom around the place but let's not forget that we're still quite fucked on and off the pitch and we'll need major surgery whatever happens this season.

Would love to say we'll build on Tuesday's win but we probably won't against a better side but you never know, we often pull out crucial victories against the Grecians.

I don't think we'll lose this but obviously won't be shocked if we do.

Obvious 2-1 loss. Wheeler to score first.

we need to average over 2 points per game until the end of the season if we want to get promoted. since we have drawn a bunch recently we need to win this in order to still be in with a shout. if we lose here the best we can do is chance our arm in the play-off lottery.

Cock.

Sounded like a piss poor second half and our heads dropped as soon as Hartlepool scored. No complaints as it sounded like Hartlepool deserved it but we have to be more robust than that if we have genuine promotion hopes.

Two massive home games now vs Accy and Cheltenham which we need 6 points from.

The ultimate game of two halves, piss poor display from us in the first, Exeter looked good on the break, fluid attack, Reid and Watkins always looking dangerous, they really should've gone in with a greater lead than 1-0.

Second half, much like Tuesday night we just came alive, for some reason Exeter took off Reid (was he injured?) and they fell to pieces and we took control, 4 goals in 2 now for Alessandra and a belting finish from Amond gave us a well earned win.

Would've been happy with 4 points from 6 and we got ourselves maximum points, chuffed as a chuffed thing tonight :2thumb:

Don't think Reid was injured, just that we tend to rest him on 65-70 and give McAlinden a chance to stretch defences. Personally I think we needed to keep him on as he makes sure the ball stays in attack.

But that's academic when we're so vulnerable at the back. Well done Hartlepool, a great week for you!

Seems a bit crazy to me that like, the ball was sticking with him most of the game he was playing well, I don't understand taking him off like that, the lad who came on for him did nowt.

Another cracking result but notice Coxall back on twitter being a tool, despite that it's the players who've saved his arse for another week, not his amazing chairmanship

The bloke has a lot to answer for, he revels in this semi celebrity status he's created for himself and the social media thicko's lap it up, we've gone from IOR who were like the stasi to Coxall who's like a yapping dog, dunno which is worse.

I just ignore the fella, let's get safe this year and have the inquisition after.

To be honest I like having him on twitter and I've had several run ins with him. I like having the dialogue but don't like dodgy loans and having property developers lurking at every corner, whilst fielding teams with an average age of 4 and a half.

He does revel in 'success' if you can call it that. Aye, two good wins admittedly and we'll probably stay up based on what's going on at Orient, and Newport being as cut adrift as the Pitcairn Islands. But if the club continues the way it's run, we'll not get so lucky next season. That's if we're still around to tell that tale.

Hope I get proved wrong, like.

Exeter looked good in the first as we played one up front & it was too easy for them.
When we went two up front we ran them ragged & they looked very ordinary.
Just hope Jones leaves that way,Exeter couldn't cope with Oates

looking at the highlights we should definitely have been awarded a penalty for the foul on watkins just before pools scored their second. ref proper bottled it.

i feel robbed now.

It wasn't too disimilar to the penalty we gave away the other week at home ... just shows the inconsistency of refs

So is this the start of Hartlepool's mini good run that they usually go on at this time of the season before normal order is restored?

We do seem to follow a pattern ....it ends up with us taking 800 to some pre season non league team before the annual wake up call with the Scunny home friendly

Just don't get relegated, I still hope for there to be a season where you are finally our promotion rivals so for once you can have a better excuse to big up our matches instead of claiming it to be a local darby.

My post was more in jest than anything else. I really couldn't give a toss about Carlisle, like most Poolies .

But anyway let's save this for the humongous derby thread in April where we'll discuss the same tiresome crap about this fixture as we do every year on this forum. Can't wait :2thumb:

I'm just enjoying sitting back & watching Curle make a pigs ear of Carlisles promotion challenge

Well we'll see how our respective clubs are doing by the time we play each other again.
