After a surprising first away win in the week, we meet a struggling Oldham side. Vale unbeaten at home so far against a team not in great form... All the makings of an away win.

Worrall, our most consistent player, is suspended and so Browne should come in his place to make quite an attacking line up.

We need to follow up the great result in the week with a win here. If we play the pressing game and put in the work we did the other night, then I think we will win, but otherwise we might struggle to break down a resilient Oldham side. Optimistic 2-0 Vale.

Worrall being out worries me a lot for this game. He is so important to everything we do and has been a real headache to almost all our opponents this season.

Really would be the most Vale thing ever after a great result at Bradford to go and shit the bed in this one. Can see it being a quite scrappy affair and maybe we scrape a narrow win.

Could make or break our season this game. Literally.

You always back Vale to throw in a shitter and lose the unbeaten home form after a result like Tuesday! Hopefully part of the new era is Vale don’t do this kind of thing!

Dino Maarmria in charge so I half expect 20 injuries, multiple dives etc so first goal will be crucial, if they get in the dark arts will come out if he’s anything like he was with Stevenage.

Losing Wozza is a blow but hopefully we can cope with Browne worth a throw in there, unless Crookes comes in and Monty pushes up and we keep Burgess or play Atkinson in the middle with Joyce and Taylor.

Hopefully get the win which takes us to 24 points and 10 for the month which would be very pleasing progress.

2-1 Amooooooo! And Bennett

Not going to Google it but it seems years since we beat these at home.
Very tricky game in swamp like conditions.
Another team who always have good away numbers apart from when they come to Vale
2-2 draw

Seeing as it's due to persist it down between now and 3pm (and has done most of the day already), I think either side will struggle to beat the weather.

Prediction
P-P

2-2 draw

2014 1-0 Jack Grimmer on his debut.

Was seconds away from beating them in 2016 when Big Reg came on and terrorised them!

Forecast doesn’t look great for anything but a P-P

Dull first half, conditions probably better for Oldham than us. We’ve caused our own problems at times mind!

Real grind of a game that, we missed a few good chances first half and one second but they could of nicked it on the break. Neither side looked capable of scoring though and the set pieces from both teams were diabolical. Thankfully ours down to Worrall being suspended.

Another game without losing and another point on the board but if we want to challenge the top 7 we need to be winning that really.

I had to go to a wedding today, but it doesn't sound like I missed much. At least our unbeaten home record continues.

Have to say I felt it would be a bit difficult after Tuesday, the pitch being heavy didn’t help as we tired in the end.

Oldham were very poor but we didn’t really go for their jugular enough.

Monty did ok bar the weird cross field ball to put them in! Two minutes later he plays a through ball worthy of the Champions League! He’s so frustrating!

Four defeats in 16 and unbeaten at home is positive but we are now finding teams sitting in against us at home and need to start finding ways to break them down.

It’ll be a season I think where we look back and feel we just needed to turn some of the draws into wins so the progress from last season in huge and hopefully will only need a few tweaks to really push us on.

Getting Worralls suspension out the way without losing too isn’t a bad thing.

Onto the circus of a fixture next weekend.

Poor really against a very limited Oldham team. We basically set any attack up that they had through sloppy play and giving the ball away.

A better team would and should have punished us today because I didn't feel we were at it. Whether the exertions of mid-week caught up with us?

We must have had 15 corners but didn't threaten from any. Why did we persist on continuing with short corners?

The substitutions were left way too late again and don't give any time to effect the game.

It's the sort of game that a team looking at the top 7 would win with ease as Oldham look a poor outfit but I guess that tells us where we are at.

Talk about delusional, wow! Yes, we weren't really at the races yesterday but that is a new low in bias.

I’d hate to see them play badly if that’s them footballing a side to death... boring us to death maybe! Don’t think Brown made a save of note, compared to the 4 or 5 their keeper made.

Wow. Simply speechless.

Hahahahahahaha. Can tell he spent so much time at that horrible club and spent so much time around Mr. Medals. Delusional doesn't even do it justice, it honestly doesn't. On a different planet that bloke is.

Oldham were by far the worst side I've seen come to Vale Park this season. Even Morecambe did a little bit extra before going down to ten men. Limited is an understatement. Constantly breaking up the flow of the game with niggly foils, surrounding the referee, feigning injuries and then running around moments later. The referee was an absolute disgrace as well. Nowhere as bad as Tuesday but he was extremely bad. It was a game of very low quality. Not many clear cut chances for either side.

'Footballed to death by Oldham Athletic'.

Fucking hell fire.

That was a truly awful game, did we expect anything different with Mr Anti football in charge of them.
Only solace is we remain unbeaten at home.
They actually had the chance of the game but aside from that it was a deserved 0-0 as we were both terrible.
Think Dino ( saur ) is on crack with his comments
