To advise any Exeter fans preparing to travel... game off. Weather is not that bad but the pitch has had snow on it and is in dire condition so assume call was made to prevent travel.

Like the way we've done it early to save Exeter travelling! The only time I went (or not as it ended up) Exeter away it got called off an hour before kick off! £80 out of pocket and 8 hours plus on a train for a pint in Exeter!

Love how usually Vale fans are in meltdown over a P-P yet tonight everyone is chuffed its off as we cant be arsed with it at the moment. Will get injuries back although oddly fancied us to beat them tonight on our pitch as it currently is in recent weeks, that said both sides had injury problems so neither will be disappointed with not playing on it tonight with key weeks ahead for us both.

Very mixed feelings on this one, on the one hand hats off for postponing early which meant my mate and I did not travel and cancelled the hotel in time, but on the other I am over from Oz and fly back tomorrow night, and this was a rare opportunity for me to watch City. Let's hope the other results go our way tonight !!

Our pitch is in a terrible state need serious money spending on it. In cricket you get fined for producing poor pitches I think that should be introduced in football too as I generally think the weather ain't too bad it's more been postponed due to the pitch still been knackered up from the Morecambe and Mansfield reserve games on there last week.

Good call Andy. We shouldn't be using the main pitch for reserve games in January/February either.

No idea why they did it! Although a week is a long time so shouldn’t really affect it.

Hasn’t been bad in recent years but is a mess this year, the Cambridge game in the snow seemed to wreck it and its never recovered.

Conversely a crap night for us, could really have done with playing this and not slipping out of the play off zone

Has to be said - if you could guarantee one game to be off it would be vale. There was even a decent programme of fixtures on in conference north south and evostik leagues too.

No we dont, but the real problem is the drainage and the clay base under the pitch. It needs a lot of money throwing at it.

Heating wasn't the issue it is the clay underneath but we haven't replaced the pitch and its in a terrible state at the moment. We have had a couple where we have been one of the only ones off the past 12 months or so but its down to the clay underneath and the fact its exposed up there.

We didn't put the covers on when it snowed mind which if we had and then brushed the snow off before it thawed may have saved it?

To be honest it's an embarasment.
The likes of Leek town and Newcastle Town can play. The weather hasn't even been that bad .
