Huge game for two sides struggling for form, despite no win in 2018 Vale haven't lost a home game since Mansfield beat us in November but have drew the last three.
The reformed Newport's first visit to Vale Park but the original club hold a big part in the history of Port Vale Football Club being the first opponents Vale hosted at Vale Park in 1950. Their previous visit resulted in a 6-1 win for the Valiants with Welsh striker Andy Jones hitting 5 (a repeat of that would be nice but unlikely!)
Vale are without Anthony Kay who is suspended (and injured) and face tests on David Worrall, Marcus Harness, Tyrone Barnett and Christian Montano who all picked up knocks at Swindon.
The sides battled out a 1-1 draw in the first meeting.
Fancy us to end our dour run here with a narrow 2-1 victory... Tom Pope and Nathan Smith
