This year, Sport England are going to appoint one city in the UK as the first ever City of Football. This prestigious accolade brings with it £1.6 million of National Lottery Funding which will be invested in the winning city to allow them to run this pilot programme.
The goal is to unite public, private and voluntary organisations to do whatever it takes to get more people playing all forms of the grassroots game.
After all of the initial applications were in, Portsmouth and two other cities were shortlisted to submit a formal proposal.
With so much on the line, Portsmouth FC approached One2create to help with various elements of the bid submission. They quickly produced the logo for Portsmouth City of Football, along with other project elements that for the moment must remain a secret!
These proposals went in on 15th of August and the next stage will be a visit by Sport England to the City of Portsmouth to present in full all of the amazing things that Portsmouth are planning to do should they win…
Watch this space for more information as and when I can tell you about it!
