How would you rate your team’s transfer window out of 10?

For us, I’d say 7.5/10. In terms of quality lost from last season, Sinisalo, Jules and Harris were big holes to fill. Not arsed about letting Aimson go, he was ok and we got a fee. Dion Rankine flattered to deceive and Tom Carroll was your typical 6/10 player most weeks. Hartridge and Kite both good players but were looking stale so needed to move.

In terms of incomings, the key one is Ryan Woods on a 2 year deal - He’s so crucial to how we play and is a real coup considering his age and experience in the Championship. Very impressed with Johnly Yfeko so far who looks classy. Time will tell on the likes of Ed Francis who we paid a fee for, Josh Magennis, Tristan Crama etc but so far so good.

Joe Whitworth in goal is where we seem to have been weakened. Early days but he’s made a couple of errors which have cost us. But in fairness he’s also produced some good stuff and he’s young so it’s to be expected for a ‘keeper playing first team football for the first time consistently.

Excited to see the new boys brought in recently (Kamari Doyle, Amani Richards and Pat Jones) who I expect will be used as impact players initially.

So, overall, I think the squad depth is far better than a year ago but we are arguably still light in CM. I think most City fans are pleased and we ‘should’ have enough for a comfortable finish again.

We had three players we had to make decisions on - Jensen, Sorenson and Erhahon (albeit with three years left on his deal rather than one like the other two) and the latter was the one we needed to keep - and did. The other two are players we'll make £1m+ on and replaced well in Wickens and Darikwa.

Loan player wise, Taylor has been replaced by Cadamarteri but it's too early to say if that will work. Mitchell we haven't replaced but we got Montsma back after his ACL. That said, Mitchell was a man mountain of a defender so he'll be a loss for us this season.

We're running with a squad of two or three more after having no strikers in the first half of the season and hardly any midfielders in the second half, which ultimately cost us a PO spot. Midfield has the potential to be completely unbalanced by an injury because we need one of McGrandles (back for Mansfield then out again) or Hamilton (out since February, back in 4-6 weeks) to be fit and we're running it quite tight at CB as well.

Also only two, late, loan signings. We've made a conscious effort to cut down on them in the last couple of seasons.

Hard to judge, we've yet to see a few of our signings (quelle suprise) and the ones we have seen haven't fully clicked yet aside from probably Lavery.

We're (theoretically) stronger in midfield, but weaker up front and the goalie situation doesn't give much confidence. Hard to tell with the defence, we've been pretty dreadful at giving away easy chances and whatnot but with the radical system change, it's hard to delineate between causes and symptoms.

Maybe a 5/10 so far but with a much more charitable ceiling once/if the theoretical becomes the practiced.

I will go 20/10 :gr: it was fun yeah

You mean 20,000,000/10, right?

We had most of our business done early and it all looked pretty good at the time.

Sadly injuries have ruled out Rafferty, Raggett, Jules and to a extent lesser we have had injuries to Hungbo and JCH.

We haven't replaced Rathbone as two late signings were asking for wages higher than the rest of the squad so SE pulled the plug on the deals.

If or when the injuries of the above plus Andre Green subside, I think we can get to January and re-assess.

As I've said previously we are short of being a top 2 team this time but we played pretty well in the win over Huddersfield so we are ok at home.

The problem is this away form, (not won away since Nov 22).
No-one is admitting it but it's bound to be becoming a phycological problem and we need to address it pronto.

Rathbone has only come off the bench so far, but Cannon is now injured so his time to shine. Looks like a busy bastard in the games hes come on for.

No-one will ever fault his work rate but you might not be overwhelmed by his assist and goal stats over his 3 years with us if you look them up.

Having said that I would rather have kept him than not be able to replace him before the window closed.

We lost so many players it has to go down as a bit of a disaster. Having said that, the only one I'm really unhappy about is Liam Kelly ( it's a shame to see him being castigated by MK Dons fans). The rest were touch and go for league 1 standard. Obviously, would have given Orsi a chance.
Some of the signings are a higher standard than we lost but gelling into a team could be problematic.

I don't think we'll need that goals or assists from him. We have Dobson who is utterly ridiculous for us from Charlton, and then someone to go box to box. Cannon has been doing that but is now injured so someone of that ability to do the same job. Can't wait to see what he can do.

We’ve recruited well with the likes of Lee Gregory, Will Evans, Keanu Baccus etc but we sold DKD and Swan, the latter got double figures I believe and DKD had something around 22 goals and double digit assist, so that’s over 40 goal contributions.

So we started it strongly and generally recruited well but not replacing DKD probably knocks it down to an average window, and a terrible deadline day.

We did try to spent money but didn’t find value, which to JR and Clough credit they won’t spend more just for the sake of it, rather go with what we’ve got until we do.

Hard to tell seeing as apart from Dobson none of our new signings can get in the team.

Our business out on loans was certainly good though, got rid of most of the ones who aren't up to it for now.

God knows how they managed to sort out a season loan loan for Dalby to the SPL.

Can sell sand to the Arabs, whoever sorted that!
FYI, people do sell sand to the Arabs. The sand over there isn't great for use in concrete.

People also sell fridges to Eskimos

You don't need to make it up.

Probably still paying most of his wages, having Wrexham on the CV gives a boost, sure there would have been a good word from Fletch as well.

Squad is ridiculous at the moment, only two new players have been started, and Rathbone only because of Cannon being injured, 9 of Saturdays 11 where with us in L2, and 7 in the NL (Not that the squads wer at that level).

We will use the BS trophy to give players who can't get a game mins, but that will still probably include Scarr, Brunt, Boyle, Evans, Mendy, Bolton and Mullin.
