Annual loss at a dull ground which our fans absolutely love.

Much better chance with both of those players injured, more confident we can get something here.

Never confident we will pick up a win away from home so I'd be happy with a point. 1-1

That's a result, Blackett at left back looks a bomb scare we should let Leko have a go at him.

Change my goalscorers prediction to Aluko and Kelly then.

I'm not sure if Swift makes our first 11 anymore, doesn't bring enough difference to Kelly, who is better. It looks like we want 3 midfielders who all bring something different to the team.

Could easily play Edwards or Evans in place of Bacuna or Van den Berg.

Blackett was shocking at left back last season, but has looked better there this season. He's much better there when we play a back 3/5, but can't see us playing so defensive at home against Bristol City.

Looking forward to seeing Gilksey back on the touchline.

That Southbank roar when he had the ball, still gives me cold showers.

Not going to this, had enough of Reading and their shitey away day. Home win as per usual to make it 8 in a row against us.

Madejski The Southbank what do you lads reccomend for drinking Saturday?

Getting into Reading about 10am and I read that the pub outside the train station is open again - is that the best place to go, and then the bus to the ground? Or is walkabout better?

Ended up in a Holiday Inn last year not far from the ground, was full of away fans but wasn't great really.

Yeah the pub by the station has reopened. Personally would go to Walkabout or one of the two Spoons in town. Got 2 pubs down the Basingstoke road. The Trooper Potts and World Turned Upside Down which are 15-20 minute walk to the ground.

Where are the Wetherspoons mate, and how could I get to walkabout/either of the two Wetherspoons from the station?

Does anyone walk to the ground at Reading? Presumed everyone just got the bus at the train station.

Depends where you drink. If your drinking in the town then no way, as it's 45 minute walk. Three Guineas (next to Train Station) is normally the best beet for away fans, as most pubs in the town are home fans (colours) only. But there are some decent pubs, and a few boring hotel bars within 15 minutes of the stadium that are normally away fan suitable, as Dazza mentions.

Four/Five years to wait until the redevelopment of the area around the Stadium is complete, which will create far more options both for drinking and more importantly transport. About 20 years too late...

There is only one left I believe - The Hope Tap. Go out of the Reading side of the station, walk down the road opposite towards Friar Street, turn right and it's about 400 yards away on the left. Fucking shithole it has to be said, you'd be better off going in the Oakford bang opposite the station (though not sure it is open to football fans this season, had one or two rows there last year and the Old Bill won't allow any football fans in).

I heard the Monks had closed down - Dazza might be able to confirm as I haven't been up to Reading in months.

Reopened a while back. Haven't been in there since it got done up so no idea what it's like now. Think you are right about the Oakford. Got a felling they no longer let football fans in.

That's what happens when you need two strikers all Summer, and do not buy them...

Nice to see the Bristol City fans aren't sore winners!

I've had enough of gloating Reading fans over the years. Glad to get one over on them today!

How's the big spending going for you?
Transfer deadline day passed last week. Will have to wait till Harry has fine-tuned the system he wants to implement but the early signs look promising. I like the look of Colin & Jota on that right side.

How was your day out in Birmingham? You went on some sort of self-imposed silence soon afterwards. Nothing to do with us beating you again? :animatedf:
