Whats all that about?

You know if you go to watch a game there is a chance that your team will get hammered out of the blue. If it's not about the result but it's about the effort of the players then even getting your money back doesnt fix that. Pointless attention seeking from owners in my opinion.

Its a fair gesture if that bad! We got dicked at Wimbledon 4-0 so offered the fans who went free tickets to our cup match at Huddersfield... where we got dicked 4-0 again!

I think its a load of bull and its typical of the society we live in these days. Its a sport, you win some, lose some and very occasionally get dicked. Donate money to people who actually need it.

Yeah, not for me. It's the risk you take.

No team ever gets tonked often enough to warrant refunds and all that malarkey.

Did Artell demand fans paid an extra twenty quid when they tonked Morecambe 6-0? Can't have it both ways.

It's not a PR stunt, because the traction it's gained has been incredibly mixed and it stands to do more harm than good. It doesn't reimburse the travel costs of coaches and trains, it doesn't cover the time people had to take off work, hotels for those who stayed overnight. A £16 often barely scratches the surface.

I think it's a spur of the moment thing to say from Artell because he was so embarrassed and felt "sorry, we'll try harder again next time" didn't quite cut it. I'll be interested to see how many of the 153 that went on Tuesday take up the offer. I'm surprised it's getting this much press, it usually happens once a season in the FL.

I do wonder what it'll do to the squad. Did he tell them this is what would happen after the game, or did he mention it for the first time and then have to break the news to them on the coach. Did they agree? Are they happy with this, given some don't earn huge amounts. DOes the whole squad chip in or is it just those who played? What about those who were only on for the last 4 goals as subs? And what him and his coaching staff. They deserve blame for their stupid selections and tactics. Do they chip? They bloody should.

For me, he said it in the spur of the moment and it was a silly thing to say. Dragging them in for training the next day was the better thing to say, that should have been enough.

Like I previously said, thicko move from a man who engages his vocal chords before his brain.

If you're shit, you're shit - we all get humped at times - it's part and parcel of football - when you're going to be down there (which I dare say Crewe will be) these things happen - write it off and try not to let it happen again.

It's like saying when our sides win big that we should pay the players or something for doing really well - you don't hear of that happening.

Honourable decision by Artell. I’m pretty sure none of the fans there were under any illusions about our team. No fans demanded it and I doubt the board or ticket office are jumping for joy about it. It’s just a decent gesture after a crappy night.

What happens if you lose 7-0 this weekend? And 8-0 the next?

What do you mean what happens? Then you remain on the same amount of points you had before the two games but with 15 less goal difference. And you go into the next game trying to win. Like with every game..

Will the fans be refunded for witnessing those thrashings as well?

Take the rough with the smooth, I’d understand if Crewe were rock bottom etc but it’s 4 games in and you’re only a couple of weeks from when you won 6-0 yourselves.

It’s a one of gesture of goodwill after a 6-0 defeat after a 4hr journey on a Tuesday night. Not sure what the fuss is about.

After a manager who alienated fans who dared question him, it’s a breath of fresh air.

The fuss is that Crewe aren’t the only club doing it, this happens quite regularly now. Crewe doing it this week brought the whole idea of refunding fans after a bad defeat back to the surface.

A £20 refund is scant reward for the hours spent travelling etc and it’s not going to change the result. It’s a risk you take as a football fan.

Think it's stupid myself, you don't pay more when you upset someone in a cup competition?

If you go to watch football at this level for the quality of the performance then you deserve to be cheated out of your money.
