Well this really is make of break for us both really.

We sit 4 points behind, with 3 games in hand before heading to Grimsby on Saturday.

Not sure if it a must win or a must not lose. They haven't won in 20 games which is prime territory for us to rock up and get hammered as we did on Friday at Vale. I think if we draw then we will have to win 2 of the games in hand so puts the pressure back on us but a defeat and we are totally down in my eyes.

Should be a big following to the coast for this one, think we normally travel okay there anyway but this has some extra spice, probably one of the biggest games we've ever played in my eyes

EDIT : meant to say Relegation Decider in title if someone can amend?

It’s a must not lose primarily.

Huge game that can’t be downplayed.

Worst home record vs worst away record. But form only points to one result.

We don't win away, Grimsby don't win in general so draw would be best bet..

What's the chances of a riot if we do win?

A defeat would be disastrous for either side, but more so for Grimsby given Chesterfields games in hand.

You're as bad as we were a few seasons ago when we only stayed up thanks to tranmere being more shitter than us.

Can see the place being snided with police. What went off with Port Vale and is a repeat likely with three times as many away fans?

I can't fight due to the modelling career personally but plenty in North Lincolnshire do I understand.

What a humdinger this is going to be. Almost the perfect game for ourselves as any of the 3 results would suit.
Having played you both recently I'd have to go Chesterfield as winners but maybe the inability to beat a 10 man Vale could recur at Grimsby because Chesterfield are gash away from home.
Can you both somehow stay up please however unlikely that is and send the Vegans back down.
Feisty on and off the pitch and woe betide any late goals !!
Good luck chaps

An absolute must win for both sides.

Shuting the gap to 1 point with 3 games in hand not only makes it look a far easier task but it also gives us the momentum going into our final 7 games. If we lose... well it doesn't bare thinking about, 7 points behind with 3 games in hand and back to back defeats.

Please just win this one boys. Expect us to take 1200+.

What does the away end hold? Will be 1600+ going I reckon. I'm partly gutted, away on a stag do so will miss all the fun and games

We’ve been sent 953 tickets. Presumably the remainder of the away end will follow? Lincoln sold out 1800 I think.

Absolutely nailed on.

Also if you get a 90th minute equaliser or winner then it will be multiplied tenfold.

Hope you're 7-0 up and we come back to win 8-7 in the last minute with a Maradona goal then

Heard we've sold about 600 so far, and I'm going down to pick two tickets up tomorrow.

We should comfortably sell out the initial allocation you've sent us, but given the importance of this game, I should hope that 1500+ are travelling across come Saturday! This really is make or break for us, the psychological advantage a win here would give us is vital going into the final stretch!

We cannot afford to lose this one...

I think we will sell it out. Especially if it's not made all ticket.

A pity this game kicks off at the same time as ours, as otherwise I would've tried to watch it via iFollow. I know it costs a fiver but I reckon I would've got my money's worth.

A friend of mine reckons it's going to be a snoozefest with both sides more concerned with not losing but I don't think so. Let's be honest, the two sides aren't very good at defending so I reckon it will be a mistake on their part if they do so.

Very sad to see that one of these good traditional Northern league clubs is very likely to join Barnet (who I'll be glad to see the back of in comparison) down in the non league abyss. I'd much prefer a crap awayday like FGR or a club just happy to plod along in the lower reaches each season like Morecambe to go down instead.

I probably would want Grimsby to stay up as it's the better awayday, but I do also like Chesterfield and can't believe how quick their decline has set in. I reckon this game will end up being a tense 0-0 draw.

Agree shame to lose either, but when you are well and truly dump , you get what you deserve. Many good traditional clubs have been close , real close but thankfully the Stylish Magpies have never suffered this embarrassing fate. It’s bad enough being in this league let alone any lower

You tend to think an early goal either way to instill confidence will win this one. Both teams will know they cannot afford to lose, so players will be super tense and nervous. I reckon if there's no early goal then the game will be settled 1-0 or 0-1 with like a 94th goal mouth scramble. I get nervous already thinking about it, we absolutely must not lose this football game.

Agree with the fella above though; why can't a nothing club like Morecambe go down instead?

This is a must win game for us. For Chesterfield, it's a must not lose.

Because you have been rather poor all season

I obviously hope we win and end up staying up but to be fair any team going 20 games without a win in a league as poor as this one deserves to go down.
Sadly I think we will get what we deserve.

I don't even know what's happened. Earlier in the season we played you, and admittedly we were awful, but you played us off the park. That Dembele kid ran us ragged. What's gone off?

They definately didn't play us off the park, I think we had 30 odd shots and about 65% off the ball but our defensive shape was abysmal (Story of our season) and we were caught on the break twice for their first two goals, followed by a penalty for grimsby when we'd thrown men forward in pursuit of an equaliser

Been trying work out what is the best scenario for us. If we win then I think a Grimsby win is probably the best option as Chesterfield would need 4 wins from 6 to surpass us. Although if we win Saturday I don’t think it matters.

I'm very surprised that Grimsby and Chesterfield are in this situation, maybe their fans feared the worst before the start of the season but I would not have predicted these two to be battling it out to stay in the league when the season started. Good memories of games against both clubs, both good and bad in terms of results. Hope if one of them does go down (it's not cut and dry, we are not 100% safe yet) that they come back sharpish.

I'd be happy for both of these clubs to stay up, and FGR go down, which could happen, but the turn around in form would be unprecedented.

Good luck to all concerned.
