RIP Stephen Hawking

The great man has passed at 76.

I'm devastated to hear this. An incredible man who had an incredible life, and who tried to forward mankind in everything he did. I've read several of his and Penrose's books on cosmology, and they are endlessly fascinating and insightful.

RIP Stephen, you will be greatly missed.

He's amongst the stars now, and maybe if that staircase is remotely true, he'll be snuggling into his beloved Marilyn Monroe's mighty bosom! Could think of worse places to see out eternity!

Stephen got a minute's applause at the Abbey today - which brought a lump to my throat and (temporarily) restored the circulation to my hands.

The bones are getting old but that was the coldest match I can remember for a while - not just on the terraces but took me back to a November vist to Geysir (Iceland) a few years back.
