I seem to be one of the few people that thinks Martinez can still go on to do good things. This job does actually seem to suit him. For one, they've already got a fantastic selection of solid defenders who are also good with the ball, so he doesn't need to try and find any. I think his style might suit the Belgium squad quite well.

Did he check all the boxes they wanted then? Last I heard they were looking at LVG too haha, oh and wasn't Neil Lennon linked at somepoint too? Good luck to him in the role.

Amazed at this decision. Lukaku will hate having to play with his back to goal again, and Mirallas may as well kiss his international career goodbye. I do think Martinez may suit international football more than club football based on his ideas, but I wouldn't have picked this group of players to go along with his methods

International management isn't the pull it once was. Saying that, he's won more trophies than Sam Allardyce, hasn't he?

It might not be the pull but to land a job with some of the most talented players in Europe at his disposal rather than getting something like the Albania job or something is a right result for the bloke. Of course there's an expectation on him now due to the player pool but it's a great opportunity to rebuild his rep.
