So, going into the last week of the transfer window, we have apparently sacked Sporting Director (Director of Football) Mauro Milanese...

Cool, two threads.

Is your new owners doing their utmost to make sure you get relegated? Kinda like Justin at Blackpool..

Orient auditioning for the final of Britain's worst run football club. Leeds, Rangers and Blackpool are already there so they've got some tough competition.

So it seems like there were irreversible differences between Milanese and Fabio Liverani.

In fairness, Milanese's role is to sort out the transfers. The transfers this season haven't been great, granted Slade had a lot of input over the summer, but signing Jobi McAnuff on a 2 year deal, Darius Henderson on a 3! year deal with an alleged £12,000 p/w wage, and Andrea Dossena (was excited when he signed, going forwards he is class, but defending is a tad questionable) on a 5 figure sum per week to sit on the bench isn't going to make Becchetti happy with his value for money. Overall I don't think any of the new signings can be classified as a success thus far.

Milanese was also a bit of a gossip, regularly telling fans things like 'we don't understand this manager' when Slade was still in charge.

Be interesting to see what happens now, strong rumours that Baudry was off to Peterborough or Luton, and that we were about to spend a club record transfer fee on Enis Nadarevic from Genoa. Be interesting to see what happens now that I guess transfers are in the hands of Liverani and Chief Scout Gianluca Romano, and whether we hire a replacement for Milanese.

I really hope Orient don't go down (unless we do) as I always enjoy my trips to Orient. Easily one of my favourite away days by far, quite like Orient as a club too.

I can't make it this year so I am hoping we're both in L1 next year so I can go.

The fact Blackpool had 8 players going into the opening week of the season is probably the most shocking story, but has time has gone on, the Orient situation is probably the biggest balls up out of the lot.

We has ten - I know were tinpot but why is this ignored by so many people? Also because of that gay twat from one direction.

6 months in as Sporting Director and a short stint as manager :dk:

He was a nice enough guy, I spoke to him a few times on train journeys home from away games, he had good knowledge of the game, although his opinions did leave me a bit baffled sometimes. When I asked him if we was any closer to getting a manager in after we drew 2-2 away at Sheff Utd, he asked me to name a few managers who I'd like to take the job, I suggested Gary Rowett and Paul Tisdale, his response was "who?" Apparently we needed a manager with Championship experience to manage our big players like Henderson and McAnuff and managers in League Two weren't the answer. Rowett has since made the step up to Birmingham. But that was Mauro's opinion.

I don't think he wanted to be "manager" either, he was just a stop gap because Nugent wasn't exactly pulling up trees.

Ultimately, the sporting director role is something we don't need here and have never needed here. We are small club FFS.

Becchetti was there Saturday and as much as he has frustrated me, he isn't stupid enough to know that what he saw Saturday was a team going down with little fight in them after he has put in a fair share of money. This is clearly his reaction after watching Saturday's poor defeat IMO.

If the role has completely gone its a small step in the right direction, if he hires someone else then IMO he will be an even bigger idiot because no one really knew what Milanese did as a Sporting Director he just seemed to get in the way. I don't think many of the players actually liked him.

If Liverani doesn't deliver now, he will also be sacked.

Foreign owners :mad::fl:

What the fuck has gone on at Orient?!! I know your owners have just ruined everything, but you still have some pretty decent players. Are they just not performing?

The general feeling is that the players aren't playing for the staff who employ them for whatever reason. We have had ALOT of injuries as well - But our squad has in the main coped and we've been able to field a very good starting eleven in every game this season.

You can bring in talented players, but if they aren't motivated to do well for their employers then it isn't going to get you anywhere fast.

Communication from the Italians since they've been here has been awful.

Occasionally this season our squad has beaten the weaker sides very convincingly - Crewe & Crawley 4-1, Yeovil 3-0 and Scunthorpe 2-1 (we should've been out of sight by the end)

Mathieu Baudry was set to join Peterborough this week - But since Milanese has gone the plug was pulled on that one, I wonder...................

Opps! Missed this!

The Guardian Series contacted the club asking if Milanese had resigned or been sacked and if they were planning to bring in a new sporting director but Orient failed to answer these questions.

Speaking earlier this month, chief executive Alessandro Angelieri said: “The only thing I would like to put across is to apologise with all the press because I have not been that communicative. But the language barrier was the only reason. Now I’m willing to be more open with the press and want to engage more in that side of the business.”

Ouch.

Just to confirm everything we already new:

http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/revealed-leyton-orient-in-turmoil-10043908.html

-We are paying players £7,500k a week
-The manager speaks no English
-The players are having to scout and prepare themselves

Its also common knowledge now, that Becchetti didn't hire Liverani.......He apparently was very unhappy when he discovered that Liverani couldn't speak any English at all.

It would appear our retarded Chief Executive hired him :(

We'll be Non league this time next year. Which 5 years ago I would've accepted as we have a very very small fanbase with low self esteem, but this is very very hard to take.

We can't do anything either, we don't have the drive. Time accept defeat.

Last one out, please turn out the lights.

Honestly gutted for you, I quite like Orient and it's a good day out, the fans certainly don't deserve this. I can't quite believe the sums of money being spunked up the wall on utter footballing toss, it's criminal.

Not read the article, is it about Bristol City's third choice keeper?
Hate to burst your bubble, but we don't have a third choice keeper.
