After our fans taking the protest to Belgium this week, I dread to think what replacement Roland will bring in for a laugh.

This pretty much guarantees your 3 points.

There will be hardly anyone there and if there is, it will be toxic.

The thing is, Slade is one of those managers who needs a season or two to stamp his mark on the team. If you was expecting top two or three this season, the man doesn't work like that!

Your man is pretty experienced, isn't he?

Not with any club of note, I think Ludogrets were the biggest team he's managed. Although he's played in England his experience in coaching/managing over here was zero, especially at this level.
Their new guy seems to have had an even more obscure career though.

I saw a stat on twitter saying that the average tenure for a Charlton manager under these owners is 20 games.

Bonkers.

Stupid decision, I think Russell Slade was an ideal fit for Charlton at this present time, with the mess off the field they weren't going to be pushing for promotion this season and Slade would have at least stabilised them on the pitch. This new appointment is just laughable, no wonder Charlton fans are so pissed off at the minute.

I'd say Ludogrets are a club of note. I'm pretty sure he's managed at least one team in the Portuguese top flight too...

Yep, also in the last 111 years, 26% of Charlton managers sacked have been under this ownership.

Pretty much, think he stepped in to manage St Truiden for a bit when their manager moved to Standard Liege (Another Roland network club at the time, incidentally)

Not sure if you have the latest on us over the last few months but funny you should say that.

Look at this clown who basically plays football manager and watches football on the TV to scout our players.

http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/...k_scout_for_Charlton_owner_Roland_Duchatelet/

Basically, I really don't care that Slade has gone, despite the testing circumstances he is up there with some of the worst managers we've ever had. His tactics and formations were often baffling, his substitutions even more so. He has absolute no interest in trying to win games, far more interested in not losing them and from some of the players performances this season he's hardly Mr. Motivator either. Just awful to watch in general.

Not only that, he's extremely dislikable. For someone who has achieved very little he came across very arrogant and often rude during post-game interviews, even ended up having a pop at fans after the Port Vale game so no tears from me that I'll never have to see that stupid cap ever again.

The problem is, we're not going to get any better now. The regime can now use the excuse that they went down the British manager with experience route and it didn't work out. So it's now looking like it's another one of Roland's cronies incoming.

It's basically just an appointment to stick the two fingers up at protesting fans, this bloke is going to have no support from the fans from the very off and nor should he. He's clearly just a Roland yes man with neither experience or a backbone. He's also been seen at The Valley during the last three home games and apparently around the training ground, just waiting for Slade to get the heave ho like some sort of vulture, disgusting.

Edit: Local journo reporting that this O'Loughlin may not be in line for the main job, possibly just on the coaching staff. Adkins a candidate again.

I'd agree with those statements, his stubborness is one of the reasons IMO why he's never quite got over the line in terms of gaining promotion in his career.

Having said that, Saturday was your first defeat in 5 league games and he Slade is not a quick fix manager - never has been!

He has indeed, Vitoria Setabul.

Ludogorets was a swift spell as he had a massive fall out with the owners who were signing players without even telling them until they turned up for training and a stranger was in the dressing room!

No-one was really expecting him to be a quick fix manager and no Charlton fan I know had even seriously considered winning promotion this season.

As much as I detest this current regime, they did give Slade the title of manager as opposed to their usual choice of head coach and they also allowed him to bring in his own players, the vast majority of which are very good league one players.

Our lack in depth was clear for all to see on Saturday but our first 11 should be good enough to beat any side in this division, but they were not performing. He was incapable of getting the best out of a good group of players, he was leaving last seasons top goal scorer on the bench and then complains after games that we weren't clinical enough. His formations often left fans scratching their heads, and he is simply the worst manager I have ever seen for making substitutions, they never made sense and only once did one of them come off and win us a match!

Don't even get me started on the negativity. We could be 1-0 up after 15 minutes and he would be more than happy to defend for our lives for the remaining 75 minutes, that was home games aswell as away games. No surprise that we rarely held on.

No defeats in 5 may paint a pretty picture but don't be fooled. Extremely fortunate to get a last minute penalty to equalise at Gillingham, we were awful against Chesterfield before an 85th minute winner, the only game we actually played well was against a very poor Coventry side.

Maybe under different conditions it could have been more of a success but I won't miss him.

You were told when you appointed him he signed some overrated players for big money, Ajose being a fine example. Struggling to get a game already.

Ajose's hardly overrated, scored 24(?) goals in a poor Swindon side last year.

He's a bit like Agard, good in L1 but incapable of making the step up. Either way, to spend £800k on the top goalscorer in the league last season and not play him is slightly baffling. Big money in this league.

Was going to post almost the same thing.

He scored more goals than anyone else in this league last season, why wouldn't you want to sign him?

Ajose is exactly the type of player that the Swindon fans told us we'd be getting, a typical fox in the box, a poacher. All of his goals so far have been like that.

Slade must have known the type of player he was getting yet was happy to stick him up top and punt balls to him or hoping he gets on the end of flick-ons, he seemed to have no idea how to play him properly.

You can call him a c*** (everyone does) but for fuck's sake don't call him Scottish or he will have you up in court quicker than he can eat a large Doner.

“I didn’t want to go in somewhere that was fire-fighting in the leagues above and fighting against supporters and trusts and different people – I wanted to join a football club like I joined previously where everyone was pulling together and it’s fair to say that the chairman sold himself and the football club in a very admirable fashion and it didn’t take me long to want to be here.”

Good on him.

Couldn't agree more re Ajose. He was struggling out wide on Saturday, hardly got in the box at all.

He did very little else for us last season except scoring the goals that kept us up!

Honestly, I reckon some of us on here could do a better job than some of the managers that are knocking about.
