So, we've got Russia coming off a thumping win over Saudi Arabia, so will be full of confidence. And we've got Egypt, who are continuing under the delusion/illusion that Salah is fit enough to take part. I doubt a few days will see him recover enough to take part in this one, but maybe after their loss to Uruguay, they'll be desperate enough to throw him in.

Fancy the Russians to take this one, Salah or no Salah.

Another own goal in this tournament.

We just need a penalty now.

Big goal for Russia, they'll be going for top spot with Uruguay in the final game which will make for an interesting game. Didn't expect Russia to come through the group as comfortable as this, maybe they could be dark horses.

Russia have been sensational in both games. Keep this up and they'll be hard to stop.

Golovin is world class.

Russia’s problem is they have a Spain/Portugal sized task next round. Considering their build up, round of 16 and being strong in the group is a decent result for them.

Egypt have been poor, expected a bit more from them against Russia tbh. First on the plane home, see ya.

I didn't want to say anything, but I must admit - I have thought about this.

I know they're at home and all, but they've potentially been the best team at the WC so far, considering before they hadn't won in 2018...

I was disappointed in Egypt last night, I thought they'd offer more than that, they only really got going once 3-0 down.

You often see the hosts exceed expectations at these tournaments.

Russia are also helped in the fact they’ve played two Sunday league teams.

Russia have collectively run further in their two matches - 118km and 115km - than any other team has done in any game.

Still not suspicious?

Have we been embroiled in a state-sponsored doping programme? Anyway, I don't know why you're bringing England into this. I've long suspected doping is rife in football and it's only a matter of time until there's a scandal. But Russia are clearly the worst culprits given it goes right to the top of their government.

Ruslan Kambolov was dropped from their squad with a supposed 'calf injury'. Grigory Rodchenkov, the former head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory, has since admitted he previously helped cover up his doping.

If you're not suspicious then you're a bit daft, in all honesty.

That documentary about Russia's Olympic doping programme starring him is fascinating stuff. He's a bit of a character too.
