Terrible. Oversaw a run of 8 defeats in a row as we went down without a fight. Fans have been crying out for a ‘proper’ manager, but nope.

We mustn’t have a penny and with this appointment can see us going down again. Our chairman needs to leave.

I wish him all the failure in the world. What a throughly unpleasant individual. I don't think Bury will go down because I think he's gone at the first sign of trouble. But what a horrible appointment.

Mostly the quite horrific way in which he conducted himself with the Alex last season. He was brought in by Steve Davis to be one of his leading men and was probably being lined up for a coaching role. Yet as soon as you guys came after him, he tried to bolt. That was strike 1.

Strike 2 was when told the fans to back Davis in November, yet as soon as Davis was sacked in January, he did an interview with the local rag to say he was disappointed that he wasn't even called about the vacant position. See link: https://www.crewechronicle.co.uk/sp...news/ryan-lowe-disappointed-not-call-12425545

Now, bear in mind he did this interview on the Monday after Davis was sacked on the Sunday. So for me, he clearly approached the paper for this story, as no way would our paper be contacting the captain of the team for his thoughts 24 hours after the change was made. And even if he was approached, then coming out with comments like his were hilarious and embarrassing. Surprise surprise, he lasted 2 more weeks before being shipped off, which was clearly his angle. I mean, why he expected to be the first choice to replace Davis, god only knows. Thankfully we dodged a bullet there.

The guy showed his true colours in his brief spell with us, and he's backed that up with his crazy "relegation is nothing to do with me" comments this season with you lot. So yeah, what a complete toss pot. Nothing against Bury fans, but I wish him all the failure in the world.

Fair enough. I’m still 50/50 on him at the moment but I won’t be calling him out before he’s had a proper chance. His new assistant needs to have decent experience at this level for him to have any chance succeeding here. My gut instinct is that he won’t do as well as he think he will but it won’t be as bad as some Bury fans are saying it will be either.

A mid table average season will do me fine after the shite we’ve had the last two seasons

Wonder where Keith Curle will go then, probably this increases the chances of us hanging onto Nicky Adams.

I’ve heard a rumour today that Salford City have offered Nicky Adams a big contract.

Interestingly the Salford sporting director Chris Casper used to be his manager at Bury. Plus he lives round there and he’s a boyhood Man Utd fan so the class of 92 thing may appeal.

Maybe, though I think to drop to the conference, even for a moneybags team would represent a lack of ambition very out of character with what we've seen of him so far. He probably came to us knowing he could have stayed at Northampton and done well in L1 had he not felt he needed to move back up north, and definitely expected to be challenging at the top of L2.

Poor for Bury although his heart seems in the right place... for a sign of what this may mean we kept Michael Brown after failing to turn around our sinking ship and nearly paid for it with an end to a century of FL football.

Always hated him but always wanted him to play for us. Same with Kevin Ellison.

Went to the same school as Chris Casper, albeit many years before I did. I think he still lives in Burnley

Too early to say if we will be fighting relegation yet. He has a whole summer to get his squad the way he wants it so no excuse for him now. The retained list is good and we've got rid of the guys that are always injured.

The only thing I can add to that, in a very flimsy attempt to defend Ryan, is I have heard that Davis himself had said to Lowe that should he (Davis) leave the job then the gig was Ryan's. But what Ryan did not know is that Davis had failed to mention any of this to Bowler & Co. I have heard this from a reliable source, it just adds weight to Davis's cuntishness but it also shows Lowe in a poor light as you are bang on with what you say about Lowe from the point Davis got the bullet.

A good reasoned post and one that echoes my thoughts. UTS and his alter ego burberry posting the predictable, childish tantrums. Both seem to echo the posts of that idiot S85 on the MB.
Lowe not my choice but I can see some reasons for him being given the gig. That is regardless of what he apparently said or did at Crewe. However I remain sceptical if he is the long term answer.
His objective appears to be rebuild, consolidate and bring the kids through.

Absolute joke appointing Lowe, he’s just the chairman’s puppet. You might as well appoint yourself Day, as you call all the shots. Going to do a Chesterfield.

The man is just a puppet for Day, Day says jump and he says how high. He is a complete fake. Hasn’t got a clue how to coach or manage. He’s a cheap option for Day as he’s still paying 2/3 previous managers. The last 2 Lucketti and Clarke are taking him to court for unpaid wages. High Lane be a building site soon.
