Few promotion clashes there:

  • Reading have still got an outside shot at playoffs but will have to be well on it to get anything from Brum.
  • Bolton v Orient should be a decent top-half faceoff
Down at the other end, Cobblers v the Gas should be a nervy affair as the two sides look to claw some breathing room between themselves and the best of the bottom 4.

7th in the home form table plays 7th in away form for us v Wigan, although they seem to be pretty inconsistent in general as to which side shows up.

Thankfully Kone was back and running about on the pitch before today's game (though not in the squad) so hopefully he will be back for Saturday.

Charlton away.

Always a popular one with our lot, over 1000 tickets sold with pay on the gate available.

Would bite your hand off for a point if we play anything like we did against Cambridge. Have to be better, and fast.

Nothing like the sabbath being ruined by a game of football.

Guarantee you Parky will be playing our set-piece ‘defending’ from last night on a constant loop to his players in training ‘they’ve got 8 defenders out and give a free header every corner, pump it in to the box at every opportunity’

I’m sure offensively we will be a problem, Blackpool could not deal with it and Lincoln really struggled in the first half, but Wrexham are defensively resolute so long as they do their jobs they will get free opportunities in our box.

Simply a must win. We are in decent form, especially at The Valley. We still struggle to cut teams open though and are over reliant on late goals. I think this could be closer than some might expect. Big wins for Birmingham, Cambridge and Peterborough please and an Orient (draw/win) not sure what's better for us there

Our away form is frickin awful - W3 D1 L12, only Posh and Cambridge have worse.
We will have Butcher and (hopefully) Hunt back to improve last nights team, along with Kofi Shaw who made an encouraging sub appearance at Wycombe.
We need 3 points but I can see maybe 1 at best. 0-0 or 1-1 my prediction

Judging by last night, the stoppable force launches it long and the moveable object loses 3-0 from a bunch of set piece headers.
We'll lump it long to absolutely no-one in particular and hope for a lucky bounce off their striker/come defender.

Oh, and whoever thought this game to move to a Sunday needs taking round the back and shooting with a paintball gun.

Huge game for us away at Bolton, Wellens risked resting Currie at Wrexham so he'll be fit and raring to go, Pratley will be suspended so he won't be able to bully his old club sadly.

Bolton are much improved post-Evatt (no surprises there), and have far more resources and firepower than we do, but there is just something about this Os team...

Heart says we nick it by the odd goal, head says fiercely contested 1-1 draw, which I would be happy with to be honest.

If we don't lose to Bolton or to Charlton the following week we've got every chance of a top 6 finish.

Our squad looks good at the moment, aside from 3 long term injuries we're only missing a couple so we'll have a decent starting XI and a strong bench.

How you feeling about Saturday Bolton lads?

Big test for Harris this weekend, wonder if he'll have time to make Cambridge as obstinate as Gillingham were

Feels like we probably need to get a win against Stevenage on Saturday before the run of 4 games against relegation rivals. Looks as if Castledine is going to be out for an extended period, so our attacking threats from midfield remain restricted

We’re hoping for a new manager bounce. Being more awkward to play against should happen but I wouldn’t expect a huge impact overnight - it’s a fundamental style shift. We need to win and I feel the only way we’re going to achieve that is through a huge effort from every player and riding our luck.

Confident as we now for the first time this season have options both in formation and quality coming from the bench. It is a game we have to win.... Wrexham and Birmingham up next alongside Stockport means we have little room if any for error.
I am not saying Schumacker has a free hit as most still expect us to get that last play-off place myself included
We are still weak wide defending Cogley/Jones on the right are not true full backs and Murphy is learning his trade on the left.... Baxter in goal and Santos have not been involved since Evatt left....We at least are starting to see round pegs playing in round holes meaning Schon and Desmond play further up wide more as wingers rather than wingbacks...Morley has slotted into Sheehan place in front of the back 4 and is starting to run games like he did at Wycombe first half of the season allowing Sheehan to play behind the front two. Our front two have not been consistent for the last 18 months and have changed week on week. Collins and Mcatee look a strong pairing in this league and i hope they get the rest of the season as a partnership.
Thomason is back for selection Saturday for me he gets on the bench at best.....As i say the squad is at last strong and we have someone who man manages the team.
What happened to the lad Archibald thought he was quality for you last season.
Kelman will need watching very impressed with him this season

We must have an appalling record against bristol rovers at sixfields in recent years.

Feels like this has garbage draw written all over it. Guessing Eaves wont be fit which is a big blow and Roberts still not back. Hopefully Shaw will feature.

We need to be able to play a bit more football without a physical presence up top, will be interesting to see if Nolan can implement that.

Not confident at all, but win and we leap frog rovers in the table and start to get in and amongst the group of teams above us.

Huge game.

There wont be a better time to beat us as we have a shocking away record. I think we are still in credit after that 0-3 play off game though, so would appreciate you let us have another 3 points please

The sort of game where neither of us probably want a draw, but somehow we’d probably both take it

Yeah its a 'just do not lose' game, but also this part of the season you need to be beating those around you

I have this odd feeling that we’ll get something on Saturday, as mental as that sounds. I just think we’re turning a corner and the squad seems in a good place again.

Having said that, the last time I had a positive feeling going into a game we got pumped 6-2 by Orient, so what do I know!

Charlton are on great form though and Jones seems to have found that consistency. If you get ahead early on we could be in for a long afternoon so I imagine we’ll try and keep things tight and maybe come out of our shell in the second half.
